Welcome to the January Handwaved CR & AU workshop for Kaisou! We're super excited to have you! These posts are to help encourage old and new players to make new connections and find potential CR while designing your AU or figuring out what your OU character has been up to. If you're brand news, you can check out FAQ page and the app page to get a sense of what's going on!

If you're a player looking to app a new character:
Apps are always open for submission and get done the first and third weekends of the month. So once you got a clear idea of what you want, feel free to hop over to the application page! If you're already in the game, feel free to comment to this post as well to make new CR!

A reminder that in order to app either a Black Order or POKEGO AU you are required to have been in the game at least 3 months with another character. If you are rejoining the game after being gone awhile, you can count your past stint towards your 3 months, but it's recommended you look over the plot recap to see what you missed.

If you are a player with a character in game looking for CR:
You can use this post to comment with your character and established some handwaved CR or just come up with different ways for characters to meet!

Character Name: Yugo Takahata (Canon name is just Yugo)
Canon: Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V
Age: 18 (Canonically 14)
Type: Paranormal Modern AU

About: A former foster kid, Yugo was adopted by the Takahatas, making Shio his older brother. He's involved in the motorcycle racing scene, and is currently on a win streak right now! (If your character has any reason to be into motorcycle racing, I'm cool with them having heard of Yugo.)

...And oh yeah, he made a possession deal with a draconic demon named Zarc. Yugo still has no clue he's possessed, and thinks he just made a deal to not die. His end of the deal requires him to regularly enter and win motorcycle races, so uh. He's gonna have a bad time when his win streak ends. :3c
Typical Activities: He's involved in motorcycle racing, so you can probably find him at the racetrack a lot. Beyond that, he can probably be found around town!

Looking for: Friends! People who can try to convince this dumbass he's possessed! (He'll insist he isn't!)

Character Name: Ritsuka Fujimaru
Canon: Fate/Grand Order
Age: turned 20 in Kaisou!
Type: OU

About: Cheerful, friendly, outgoing, and packed with way more trauma under the surface than anyone her age ought to. Apparently that's what happens when you spend 3+ years saving the world from various threats instead of going to high school. Is finally trying to find a semblance of 'normal life' for herself here in Kaisou.
Typical Activities: Works at the Vogue, spends a lot of time exploring Hyrule with Yasuho, occasionally goes to pester Edward on the Jackdaw, generally spends a lot of time visiting/doing things with friends and family! Will probably start taking classes at Cygnus soon so there's that too.

Looking for: I'm done for just about anything! Ritsuka's by far the easiest of my three for getting along with people, so it's easy to handwave stuff.

Character Name: Beredvyn of Nal (Meredith Nelson)
Canon: original character
Age: 26 now in Kaisou I guess
Type: Normal AU

About: Midwestern gal who likes sports and swordfighting and was working on getting her career off the ground when a weird app showed up on her phone. Things have only gotten weirder since, and she's distinctly less than thrilled about it. Has a 'pet' griffin and is trying to deal with the fact that her cousin no longer remembers the app but she's still stuck in the middle of this craziness.
Typical Activities: She (somehow) still has a normal job, her main hobbies are sports and HEMA, so mostly she's interacting with other app-users on, well, the app. Or helping out as much as she can when something goes wrong/a new gate shows up. Basically she's Around but usually not getting too involved with shenanigans. Usually.

Looking for: Again, I'm down for whatever! Lucy (who's no longer on the app) is her cousin, but I'd certainly be open to other relatives/prior friends/etc too. Meredith can come across a bit strong, especially if she's feeling opinionated or worried, but she'll very much stick with anyone she does care about and thanks to earth-element powers is a GREAT protector for anyone who needs it.

Canon: Sonic the Hedgehog (Paramount film series)
Age: 16... wait he had a birthday too so 17 technically?
Type: OU

About:A teenager red echidna alien who's far too serious and far too naive for his own good. Likes grapes and punching things. Still kind of working on that whole settling in and making friends thing.
Typical Activities: WARRIOR TRAINING. Which consists of running his obstacle course in the woods, primarily. In his free time he tends to wander around. Probably visits Meropide regularly because he likes Wrio.

Looking for: KID NEEDS MORE FRIENDS and a friendly(?) rivalry or two wouldn't hurt either.

Character Name: Waver Velvet
Canon: Fate/ (noncanon servantswap AU)
Age: 31
Type: OU

About: The co-administrator of Cygnus Academy/teacher of one of its many classes as well as POKEGO's Blackthorn, Waver is a professional mage with chronic pain and a temper to match, becuse god forbid anyone realize he's actually kind of a huge softie. Also he turns into a bird when stressed.
Typical Activities: He's a nightmare workaholic, spending the vast majority of his time in and around Cygnus either teaching or making sure various maintenance tasks are getting accomplished. Fate forbid the magic barrier gives out or Caleb blows something else up. Generally other than that, he doesn't make a secret of the fact that his apartment isn't terribly far from the school, and tries to make himself available for anyone that needs his help academic or otherwise.
Looking for: i'm down for most anything, i just need to reorganize my new year ducks into a row

Character Name: Scintilla Caminus
Canon: Final Fantasy XIV (WoL OC)
Age: ~30s
Type: OU

About: A Miqo'te possessing a heart as big as her biceps, Scintilla is a blunt and nigh unintelligible speaker with far more wisdom than intelligence She runs the Second Spark blacksmith forge in Undertown, and can always be found where there's some crazy battle-focused nonsense going on.
Typical Activities: She lives and works out of her forge, but often travels to Kanto and Stardew looking for new and interesting rocks to make into fun pointy objects. Occasionally she'll also go mining in Hyrule, but if she goes there it's more likely for combat practice.
Looking for: see above--honestly of the three she's the one that needs to get out there a bit more

Character Name: Ardyn Izunia
Canon: Final Fantasy XV
Age: Yes.
Type: Black Order AU

About: Having been in the Black Order for as long as almost anyone can remember and having been annoying for even longer than that, Ardyn is a career assassin for the Order finding himself with way less assassinating to do following the revolution. Carrying two eternities worth of difficult memories and also a daemonic possession, usually Ardyn is less dangerous than he is just flat-out irritating.
Typical Activities: Usually caught up in whatever the Order's doing, but as a general rule he's mainly out and about at night; nowhere specific, just looking for things to do and trouble to get into. He also tends to show up out of nowhere when applicable/funny, having shadow jumping and a lack of willingness to use it responsibly.
Looking for: anyone who can put up with him. i gave him martyr complex and healing pain, which is a whole loaded mess he's going to need to unpack once he realizes he has them, so there's that to mess about with.

Character Name: (Al)Haitham Sabah
Canon: Genshin Impact
Age: 27
Type: Normal AU

About: Haitham is the elusive secretary of the dean at the college. He transferred into the city when his grandmother died, so he's been here a while just quietly doing his own thing.

Typical Activities: He does clerical work for the school, but it's more likely that professors see him in that way. Otherwise, he periodically goes to libraries and bookshops. There's also the rare occurrence that he's at a café or a bar.

Looking for: Anything? IDK. He's fairly elusive when he's not at work. At work, however, he's probably one of the most annoying people to get something through. Incorrect paperwork? Straight in the trash. Need to set an appointment? He's probably napping. Made an appointment? He may have sent that reminder call a few hours before you were supposed to show up. He's not your secretary.

Otherwise, he seems to take well to book lovers and endless yappers.
