Welcome to the January Handwaved CR & AU workshop for Kaisou! We're super excited to have you! These posts are to help encourage old and new players to make new connections and find potential CR while designing your AU or figuring out what your OU character has been up to. If you're brand news, you can check out FAQ page and the app page to get a sense of what's going on!

If you're a player looking to app a new character:
Apps are always open for submission and get done the first and third weekends of the month. So once you got a clear idea of what you want, feel free to hop over to the application page! If you're already in the game, feel free to comment to this post as well to make new CR!

A reminder that in order to app either a Black Order or POKEGO AU you are required to have been in the game at least 3 months with another character. If you are rejoining the game after being gone awhile, you can count your past stint towards your 3 months, but it's recommended you look over the plot recap to see what you missed.

If you are a player with a character in game looking for CR:
You can use this post to comment with your character and established some handwaved CR or just come up with different ways for characters to meet!

Character Name: Vash the Stampede
Canon: Trigun (Maximum)
Age: 152
Type: Original Universe

About: A humanoid-looking alien with more scars than skin and a heart bigger than his body. All he wants is to live among humans and have a peaceful, happy life with what remains of a very stressful set of life experiences.
He's been in Kaisou now for nearly 2 years, and he's gotten very comfortable with his life here.
He lives on the very edge of town, a garden hidden by a small expanse of trees (most of which bear fruit), with a family consisting of Wolfwood, Kni, Eve, and a whole bunch of animals and pokemon. Dante also is a regular visitor who is there almost as often as he is at his own home in the city.
Having willingly drank the juice of one of the city's terrible Immortal Peaches, he also is now functionally immortal as well as unable to leave Kaisou.

Looking for: Vash is a busybody who tries to befriend literally anyone he meets. He works as a bartender at the Vogue and will chat up anyone who makes eyecontact with him for five seconds.
He has all the energy of a Labrador--with the ears and tail to match it.
If you'd have liked to have your character meet him as handwaved CR, I'd be down with that--or if you'd like to discuss any adventures or mischiefs your character may have gotten up to with him, I'd be absolutely down. It doesn't matter if he's known someone a week or a year--he'll be your best friend all the same.

If your character is a cranky introvert? means he'll be the one initiating and prodding, too. So we can discuss vash having been a busybody to worm his noodly way into someone's business. I'm down for whatever.

Since Vash tends bar at the Vogue, he and Maxima have probably chatted a bit there from time to time! Especially since he's an OU himself who's only just coming up on six months

he loves talking to other OUS!!! he's got a lot of space travel stories under his belt and is fascinated with other worlds and things as simple as the different types of weather or creatures on said planets. he'll talk your ear off maxima, sorry.

Jun probably regularly stops by the cottage to check on things! He probably tries to help out around the garden when he has the downtime to do so.

Once and awhile he'll also stop by the Vogue to catch a show and talk to Vash there, but that's probably at most once a month or so.

THE MOST WELCOME PIECE OF MINT IN THE GARDEN vash looks forward to jun's visits and probably talks his ear off sorry
show him all the new crops or trees that have grown in the time he was away

he'll get less chatty vash at the vogue at least, he takes his job seriously.

HONESTLY he loves the chattiness. He likes listening to Vash's stories and updates, and if Vash is doing the talking then it means he doesn't have to talk a whole lot. So please talk his ear off.

growing plants outside is at least easier than growing houseplants, houseplants are dramatic and wilt if they get 0.3% less water one week while an olive tree can survive the hardest of winters, its pretty cool

GASP also this small silver man IS six feet dw about it

okay but for real riku is turning into a plant mom, his apartment is slowly filling with indoor plants of all types because he has no self control BUT the most important thing to him is a baby tree he got for his birthday that he wants to plant and take care of-- he's gotta grow Paopu here in Kaisou (which is a palm tree that grows fruit with love and promise traditions in his previous life, he will tell Vash ALL about it)

Persephone visits the cottage EVERY morning to lurk about the garden and mess with the plants, so she probably sees her dear high priest every morning. She might even deign to spend some mornings sitting with him with some hot tea/coffee or somesuch.

NATURALLY, Zulius sees him a lot at work. They probably have lunch together on the reg!

at first vash was definitely nervous about A LITERAL GOD being in their business in the beginning, but now she's just. part of the family. he's gone from calling her landlady on the reg to probably calling her persie so long as she doesn't look at him too severely
tbh he'll probably have gotten into the habit of cooking an extra breakfast for her, too. it's probably omelette most days with vegetables haha


the vogue is vash's home-away-from-home!!!!! he loves spending his evenings there
tbh when they go out for lunch, he probably drags zulius to new places he's found and doesn't want to try on his own hehe

Nito's definitely invited Vash over for tea several times at this point, which also means Vash knows that Nito's personal realm is very... like a cross between a hobbit hole and Zeniba's house from Spirited Away filtered through the perception of a non-mortal being.

...This also means Vash has almost certainly seen Coffee the Giratina. "Almost" because Coffee is as timid as they are large.

nito was such an intimidating figure when they first met but now vash sees the big skelly-man as a big softie with a big heart somewhere in those old bones.
he'll always bring cookies or pastries when he visits--his brother and he are always experimenting with different flavors and fruits from their garden so id not be surprised if nito's become a taste-tester of sorts for them.

also seeing a pokemon as big as a giratina is definitely scary but vash totally knows what its like to be a big scary guy but actually be a shy fella
somehow giratina reminds him of nito himself

sometimes a parent is just like their pet huh
