Hello everyone! It's time for the announcement and plotting post for August!

OOC Housekeeping

• The Zodiac Network Post will go up August 1st, with a midmonth post going up August 15th. The first half of the event log will be posted August 4th, with the second half going up August 11th.
• If you haven't already, please remember to check in for activity! Activity is due by the end of the month!
• Just a reminder for anyone who hasn't joined yet, but we have a game discord for current players! It's completely optional to join, but come in and say hi!

World Changes

• Trick Room TM are now available for pokemon to learn

Side quests
Side quests have been given an overhaul! In the new side quest system, players will now be able to submit their own side quests to be posted, as well as earn regain points. Go ahead and check it out!

New side quests will be posted this weekend!

POKEGO Update
POKEGO has been vibing and will continue to vibe! Don't worry guys, I haven't forgotten about you. We're just dealing with one of the other factions being on fire for months. Please help put out the fire. Please.

Zodiac Update
The playable Zodiac characters are now on the app, and they are now have been given the job of assisting the Libra app users on top of their prior responsibilities. Do they get bonuses for this? No. But we'll give you a pizza party!

Starting now until the start of the second phase of the plot, the Zodiac characters will be tasked with getting Yggdrasil capable of traveling between the realms. This means they will need some type of bifrost/light magic tool that will tap into the tree. It is entirely up to you how the Zodiac crew manages to pull this off, rather they make a gadget or have a wild adventure into the Spirit Realm.

Black Order Update
So bad news, you guys won't be getting paid this month again. And your bosses are now coming after you personally.

But good news! Sympathetic members of the Order have noticed Kaisou's efforts, and they will be coming to help! Starting with the event log, Black Order ally NPCs will be around in kaisou! They will be on the Gemini app, and available to help with plot things.

City Events
Since August is a fire month, expect the weather to be extremely hot! Luckily, it'll be a dry heat so it'll probably be more bearable than July's humidity.

And with August comes the Kaisou County Fair! Check out the fair in-between the revolution, there's lots of fun new foods to try!

Special Event: Asgard
This month's event will the big climax to the Black Order plot, and features the realm of Asgard! Characters will be facing off against the leaders of the Black Order, aka the Unyielding, and storming Asgard. The plot will mostly be focusing on the boss battles, but it will also provide a chance for characters to learn some of the Order's darkest secrets (YES, THERE'S MORE)

Speaking of the Unyielding, it's time to announce who you'll be facing off against! The Five unyielding are:

• Arianrhod (Yuff)
• Jun Wu (Ryuu)
• Kirei Kotomine (Nao)
• Kratos Aurion (Saffy)
• Tsuchigomori (Prince)

Each of these Unyielding will be their own boss fights with their own unique mechanics. Please read their plotting comments for more information! Also please note that these fights will be more difficult than the Zealot fights, so please make sure your characters are ready!

Due to the sheer amount of stuff going on, the event log will be broken down into two updates:

August 4th (aka August 3rd at 6pm EST): First half! This will contain town events, the arrival of the Black Order Allies. And the first two unyielding battles (Kratos and Arianrhod). Arianrhod's battle will take place in the fields of Hyrule and will feature a giant mech battle, while Kratos will be breaking into the Fortress of Meropide... for any of you unlucky souls who were hanging out there.

August 11th (aka August 10th at 6pm EST): Second half! This will be when the player characters will be heading into Asgard to face off with the final three members of the Unyielding (Kirei, Tsuchigomori and Jun Wu). They will all be taking place in different sectors of Asgard. Characters will also get a chance to explore Asgard and dig up more of the Order's secrets.

After the plot is over, September is planned to be a chiller month and that'll also be the time when players can start to figure out what the future of the Order will look like.

With regard to the log and Asgard in general there are a few things Wei Wuxian would seek out for general knowledge:

Is there more information to be found around the large purple dragon?

Are there methods in the library listed as to how they found the AUs who have files already and continued to recruit them in the past?

Are Jun Wu and Kirei Kotomine’s files readable after their defeat?

Does TBO have notes regarding studies, solutions, or any information that will give insight towards the Spirit Vein issue in Kaisou?

Is there a file on Willow and/or Giratina that shares anything we don't already know?

Are there any signs of the gods that inhabited Asgard?

And for his personal concern he'll try to find any notes on Xie Lian and more importantly and specifically, Lan Wangji. These don't have to be written mind you nor do Jun Wu or Kirei's, but he'd want to find them either way.

ARIANRHOD, THE STEEL MAIDEN (Unyielding)

Arianrhod will be among the first Unyielding to be battle! Unlike the others, she will openly challenge the player characters to face her out in Hyrule.

Her style of combat is mostly melee, with using a massive lance. The fight will be pretty straight forward, with two parts to it.

Part 1: You'll be fighting just Arianrhod! She will hit like a truck and move extremely fast. Also she might crucify some of you as a treat.

Part 2: She will summon her Divine Knight which is a 8 meter tall (26 feet tall) mech that is equipped with a massive lance made of special metal that is near unbreakable. Basically, the only way to beat this form is to be Big Yourself (this is also why this battle is taking place in Hyrule, who cares about collateral damage baby!)

Personality wise, Arianrhod is probably the most noble and moral of the Unyielding, though she's clearly become too jaded over the years. Immortal characters might also realize that she was once this world's version of Joan of Arc.

She will most likely die when her battle is over, as she will start to fade away once her mech is destroyed- but it is possible to seal her away if you rather not kill her. I'm open to either option!

Saffy here, I specifically am throwing in Kratos as a sort of 'bad end' to see exactly what happens when an old man with depression is allowed to stay in the Black Order and in fact encouraged in his depression.

He used to be one of my mains a long time ago in Paradisa so some of you are negative surprised and that's OK.

Hey im Prince and I'm bringing one of the Unyielding is anyone surprised that it's yet another black-and-white haired man.

Anyway, I have This thing that's totally normal for me to ask ya'll to fill out ONLY IF YOU'RE PLANNING ON YOUR CHARACTER GOING INTO ASGARD. If your character is not going into the belly of the beast, please disregard.

Tsuchigomori is known as the Timekeeper, and is one of the less scary Unyielding due to his desire for staying inside his library which Holds literally all the secrets of the Order. He's usually the one who hounds Jusis and other higher ups to turn in their paperwork on time.
He has an obsession with knowledge and keeping track of history and every bit of writing is sacred, everything needs to be recorded.

TWs for possible spider imagery because he is, in fact, a spider-like fae creature, but I can leave any descriptions of spiders or anything relating spiders out of tags with him if asked.

His fight will be a layered labyrinth where characters will need to face him 1 on 1 and pass his tests/survive his maze in order to get through to him.

Okay so here's how his fight will work.

Phase 1: You're fighting his pets first. You gotta EARN this boss fight, goddamn it. There will be AOE, status effects, and things that will target tanks AND healers so NOBODY IS SAFE.

Phase 2: You'll fight The Ghost General himself. He has armor that is invulnerable except for one specific spot (please thank Xie Lian later). Jun Wu will also make it extremely hard to hit him with magic, is immune to status effects, can debuff you, can heal himself, and overall it's going to be a battle of attrition. This is why there'll ONLY be two phases because holy shit, my guy.

I'm using my entire DM brain against you guys so I hope you enjoy the fight! ;w;

Event Plans: I don't have anything firmly nailed down beyond the fact that she WILL help somehow. As well being extremely bewildered by why is there ANOTHER person from her world in TBO this is getting to be a worrisome pattern?? ANYWAY she has some kaisou elemental powers but what she excels at isn't fighting directly but rather playing a sort of battlefield tactician for other, much more competent fighters, as she did against Cu! I'm always open to plotting on this point so if anyone's interested in teaming up with her lmk. She also can revive a single person per month so if anyone really wants to have a character temporarily die we can possibly work something out.

About: Beef with a heart of gold turned teeny tiny bat, now able to shapeshift into beef once again! Despite being in his early 20s, the Victorian Gentleman spirit is strong enough that he just kind of radiates weird grandpa energy depending on the hour. The rest of the time he just radiates 'delightful nerd', so the joys in boxing might be a bit alarming to anyone unaware of the part where he was originally 6'5'' and 200ish pounds of muscle.
Event Plans: Jonathan might come along for a raid, but he also might not; as it stands, he's the one most likely to sit out of most things to be helping on the side through all the stuff that doesn't involve charging after a big big bad guy. That said, I'm flexible on that, especially if a fight turns out to be in dire need of a zippy little bat somehow.

On the investing end, he's leaving you all a gift as I intend to dip into the World Regain Pool again using JoJo this month; specifically, the goal is TM: Protect, which will hopefully help people a lot! Including him, obviously. Otherwise his points are probably going toward the Make Yasuho An Ambulance fund, for good reason.

About: Mild university student has blossomed into the healer archetype beautifully, which is to say she can now shout 'SCREW THIS' and charge into battle with a great sword! Ever the overachiever and overworker, people are probably not very surprised when they realize her monster type is Half Faerie.
Event Plans: SHE'S FIGHTIN! Or at least healing! Yasuho will initially be caught up in the initial phase of the Hyrule Arianrhod fight, which is pretty easy to have happen when you regularly go there to practice combat on the side of your work hours.

After that however, she'll be helping in Asgard as well- most likely she will be going to the Tsuchigomori fight, as I am a sucker for 1v1 trials, but if character bloat leaves a different fight devoid of much needed support roles I'm willing to move her! I'll be shuffling points around to ensure that in addition to her standard recuria and holy breath combo, she has the ability to cast more spells in succession, as well as cast Shining. And possibly pull out a shield.

It depends, really! I'll probably also be tossing her at a sidequest because, she can't sit still right now.

And juuuuust when she was recruited by a merry gang planning to save the world, she ended up here instead!
Event Plans: She's been given the down low on what's up with the Black Order, and is largely sympathetic to the cause of those rebelling against the order. She doesn't really want to call attention to herself, but will be trying to find ways to help the cause.
Anything else? She just arrived and is getting settled into a new life at Kaisou! This is the freedom that in some ways she didn't know she could dream of, so she's wrestling with a lot of existential questions. But some potential threads developing...

• She's chatting with Hua Cheng and getting recruited to helping out as a watch-woman for Ghost Town! And may potentially start living there for a bit, so would love to explore any CR that comes from that proximity


• She's also chatting with Zulius and Edward about a potential job at The Vogue. If it pans out I am veeeeeeery excited for her to potentially utilize her acting talents, and potentially explore CR with other folks who work there :3

Event Plans: I'm going to upgrade his abilities as much as I can, but compared to people who've been here longer he's probably not going to be a whole lot of use, especially since he was just a regular guy and has only gotten the idea that he might have to fight stuff in the last month or so. He's wholeheartedly in support of the rebellion against the Black Order just on general principles, though, so he'll be looking for what he can do.
Anything else? He'd be happy to accept a crash course in shadow magic and/or combat skills from any existing CR or anyone they direct him toward.

Canon: Final Fantasy XIV
Type: OU
About: A high-ranked member of a liberal faction within a militaristic empire, he defected after he and his allies were used as pawns and nearly killed once their usefulness was ended. While he was living in exile, the Empire fell to civil war and a zombie(?) apocalypse, so he marched to the capital acting as the guide for a foreign aid convoy, just in time for a worse apocalypse to get set off. The worst of the danger is settled now and he was spending his time organizing the refugees and trying to re-establish a society, until he got brought to Kaisou.
Event Plans: Aside from definitely running into the reincarnation of the man who spent some time being the first emperor of his home country (among his many atrocities ♥), not a lot of plans. He's still settling in and trying to figure out what to do with himself, but he's very sympathetic to the fight for freedom.
Anything else? He has military training and can operate heavy machinery, and the weird dot in the middle of his forehead makes him good at shooting stuff with guns, for lore reasons.

About: Originally made to be a bioweapon, Eve was rescued and taken in by bounty hunters back home. She has now been adopted by the cottage crew. A young teen curious about the work around her, she loves books and people watching. Eve can transform into weapons at will, a power which she wants to use to help protect people.
Event Plans: No plans for Eve to go fight the Black Order (because she is inexperienced, pacifist might have issues with all the murder, and also rl). She may watch over the city if her family allows it, just keeping an eye out in case of the worst. Otherwise, she will be open for the county fair and side quests.

About: Back in canon, Dance-For-Us is one of many god-like forces hanging around the town of Redacre. She allied with the teens there against her "parent" Speak-As-One, who was controlling the adults into building a mysterious tunnel. Her specialty was "dance," especially using it to fight off fear. Now she has become Danielle, a young college drop-out who has stuck around Kaisou. She works odd jobs in hopes to finish her degree, but she still loves to party and dance.
Event Plans: Dani might end up as support if need be, either in fight or out of fight. While inexperienced, she has a LOT of tools now. She can also help with ferrying people to the Vogue since she has teleportation now.

Anything else? Admittedly I may spend most of my time in August focused on a certain Black Order member.

So if you're looking to throw someone in on a fight there's currently only 3 people so far in Ritsuka's group in the Kirei fight, and I'm looking to possibly throw Knuckles at Jun Wu which I think would mean starting a new group at this point?
