October Plotting & CR Post

Hello everyone! It's time for the announcement and plotting post for October!

OOC Housekeeping

• The Zodiac Network Post will go up October 1st, with a midmonth post going up October 15th. The game wide event log will go up October 4th.
• If you haven't already, please remember to check in for activity! Activity is due by the end of the month.
• An AU workshop post will be going up October 8th!
• Just a reminder for anyone who hasn't joined yet, but we have a game discord for current players! It's completely optional to join, but come in and say hi!

World Changes

• Mognet, a moogle mail delivery service, is now running in Kaisou!
• Maxim Tomatoes can now be purchased in specialty grocery stores!
• A small Ogier Stedding can be found within Kami State Park, disabling all magic of those who enter.
• A new rule has been implemented, new players must wait one month before inviting other players! This is so new players have a chance to get settled in and help out any friends they bring along.

Side quests
New Side Quests have been added for the month of October! Go ahead and sign up! If you haven't turned in quests for September gacha points, you can still do so until the end of the month! However, signing up for any September quests is now closed.

Town Events
The spoopy season is upon all! All over Kaisou, Halloween decorations and celebrations will be going on throughout the month! Buy a costume at your local Spirit Halloween, and join in!

However things aren't all fun and games with this season. Many cultures claim that this is the time of year where the veil between the Spirit World and this world are at its thinnest, and boy will that turn out to be accurate. Through the months of October and November, all NPCS will notice the unusual goings on. Meaning you folks who like to carry around fantasy weapons and have inhuman features are going to have a LOT of questions to answer.

Not only that, but tears, smaller gates that open up to smaller monster-infested labyrinths will be opening up more frequently throughout the month, with beasts attempting to drag unsuspecting victims into the spirit realm to be consumed. Team up to patrol the city or go exploring a tear at your peril. Those who had some unfinished business with the Spirit Realm may use this month to pursue certain targets. Please comment below and we will create a quest for you! Otherwise you can do a more generic adventure which will involve fighting monsters and saving folks before they get eaten.

It should be noted that the labyrinths that OUs entered upon arrival won't be available this month. Stay tune for November for that one!

Gate Event: The Qliphoth
October's gate event will be based on the series Devil May Cry. Players can volunteer to have their characters kidnapped by demons as part of a ritual. While they are kidnapped, they will have to face off with demonic versions of themselves - aka demon doppelgangers that reflect some of their worst traits to a magnified degree. Kidnapped victims will be expected to be missing from Kaisou for anywhere from 2 days to a week ICly, depending on how long you want your character to be nabbed.

Characters who haven't been kidnapped will of course be part of the rescue party! While there are things for non-combatant characters to do to help out (helping out at the safe zone, organizing a party to raise spirits) - true to DMC fashion, the rescue operation will involve lots and lots and lots of demon fighting. Bring your most extra weapons and come face the demon foe!

If you're interested in having your character be kidnapped, please comment below under the kidnapping sign ups! Before you sign up we Highly Recommend you check with Close CR first to make sure they're okay with this. Close CR in this instance would count as any character who would reasonably panic if your character went MIA for a week (family, roommates, significant others, etc). Remember: torturing characters is always more fun when we're all on the same page!

About:

Mafuyu is, on the surface level, the perfect girl. A straight A Honors student, athletic, artistic with a knack for picking up new things quickly, and she's friendly, humble and sweet at the same! Why, back home she's practically famous for her ability and agreeable nature alike. And with her capabilities, came... a boatload of expectations that a childhood trauma drove her to meet, both at school and at home, to the point that she's been so utterly crushed by other's desires of and for her that she has no sense of identity, goals and dreams of her own or even a connection to her own heart.

Her sole comfort in the world is working on music, especially with her group 25 ji Nightcord de., but also on her own. Within the group she's primarily the lyricist and mixer, but has proven she can compose and even draw and animate her own music videos as well- well enough that most of her viewers believed her to be an actual professional musician. Music is something soothing and relaxing for her, so she treasures it dearly.

Having literally just arrived, Mafuyu is... trying to figure out what to even do. School is... probably happening? For the sense of structure and also so she doesn't fall behind on her studies, but there's going to be a cultural adjustment as well.

Event Plans: That's a great question. However, Mafuyu is a people pleaser who doesn't know how to say no! So like, if you ask her for help she'll totally help. While I do enjoy a fun kidnapping plot, I don't think Mafuyu has anyone to truly care for her just yet? I've got a lot to decide on but there's time, at least. WHO'S READY FOR SHADOW MAFUYU

i can't see mafuyu deciding she doenst need school when part of her mother's pressure on her is to maintain her perfect grades, soooo she probably is!! congrats on your prodigy student elliot. ( BUG is actually one of her songs, fun fact!!! .... dont worry about the implications to that they'll come later :) )

EXCELLENT! Elliot is also a music prodigy so he should be able to give her enough of a challenge when he realizes the scope of her talents and passion.

god being able to talk about music freely with people other than n25 is going to be so freeing actually? especially since she's getting proper guidance suddenly... girl was already thought to be professional level she's just about to get so much better

I've read some of the comic but I got really sucked into the web novel it was based on! I can link you to that if you want. I haven't finished it because it's ridiculously long but I've had fun with what I've read so far!

Luffy will be easy to make friends with and Cale is... well, not super hard to make friends with? Lmao I wouldn't call him easy but yes. Kidnap buddies are best buddies. He's going to be so concerned because his intro is tomorrow and a few days later, he's kidnapped.
