Hello everyone! It's time for the announcement and plotting post for October!

OOC Housekeeping

• The Zodiac Network Post will go up October 1st, with a midmonth post going up October 15th. The monthly event log will be posted October 4th.
• A new AU Workshop will be posted October 14th.
• If you haven't already, please remember to check in for activity! Activity is due by the end of the month!
• Just a reminder for anyone who hasn't joined yet, but we have a game discord for current players! It's completely optional to join, but come in and say hi!
• Players can now return unwanted goodwill items through the regain page. For every 2 goodwill items, you will receive one free gacha pull.

World Changes

• Higashikata Fruit Parlor can now be found in Midtown!
• The Blacksmith's guild is now in Undertown for all your blacksmithing needs!
• The Ameno Statue of Seven is now on Cathedral Hill!
• The Geo Statue of Seven is now shirtless outside the mall!

Side quests
New Side Quests have been added for the month of October! Go ahead and sign up! If you haven't turned in quests for August gacha points, you can still do so until the end of the month! However, signing up for any September quests is now closed.

POKEGO Update
Thanks to everyone's research into the Willow matter, Professor Oak will write and thank them for the information they sent to him. It's not happy news by any means, but he thinks he can use it to help find some peace about the matter. So you did a good thing for grandpa guys!

For this month, POKEGO has finally completed their Spirit Energy Reader based on the device they borrowed from Zodiac. With this reader, they will be able to pinpoint likely locations of Spirit Gates and any labyrinths created by OU arrivals without the assistance of Zodiac. They will also be able to figure out the source of all the increased Spirit Energy-- there are several tears within the Spirit Vein itself that are causing the leak, caused by Willow. Now how they will go about fixing those tears is another question since flying directly into the Spirit Vein is genuinely well, a bad idea.

Black Order Update
Since the Black Order choose to destroy Rukkhadevata's records, the memories of her are completely erased. As such, the Black Order will have no memory of assigning you a mission in September. Huh, guess it was a month off!

As for the month of October, due to the arrival of a Sacred Gate, the Black Order will be tasked with doing guard duty for the gate! They will be expected to watch the gate and make sure no hapless civilians wander into the gate, or that anyone does it any harm. If anyone attempts to harm the gate, the Black Order will be expected to stop them by any means necessary.

Town Events
It'll be an Earth element month, so the weather will be a pleasant autumn season! That said, throughout the month it will get foggier and foggier. A full moon will be happening from October 27th to October 29th, so right before Halloween. Speaking of Halloween, a Japanese-style Halloween festival will be held in Kami State park this year and Spirit Halloween will be all over the city.

Meanwhile in the stable gates, Stardew Valley will be holding it's own Halloween event and in Kanto there will be an increase of Ghost-type Pokemon! Go catch those boos.

October Horror Plot
As mentioned in the September Event log, October will be having two event logs - the main one and a side opt-in horror plot. The horror plot will be based on Cabin in the Woods and Until Dawn. For four days (October 7th - October 10th), signed up characters will be whisked away to a special Spirit Realm and assigned classic horror-movie roles (Athlete, Promiscuous, Scholar, Fool and Virgin) that they will find themselves acting like even if it clashes with their original personality. From there, they will be expected to survive for four days from constant threats. Not only that, but all regained powers and items will not be on their person and they will not have access to the Libra network during the four days.

This side of the event is entirely opt-in and players will need to sign up their characters to participate in the comment section below. Sign ups will be open until October 9th and characters must be at least 18 years of age in order to participate (yes we bumped it up from last month's estimate just to be safe). Characters who aren't signed up for the plot will have no way to interfere with the plot, and in fact will not even realize anything is amiss while the other characters are missing. They may notice that the characters are missing, but find themselves compelled to rationalize that they are absent for normal reasons like a fishing trip or being busy with work. This way, characters can go about their lives without players needing to figure out how not to make their character panic for four days straight.

Please be aware that this is very much a horror plot. As such it will be containing instances of psychological manipulation, drugging, isolation, paranoia and violent death. If that's not your cup of tea, that's perfectly fine! There is nothing meta-plot wise that'll be missed by not participating in this event, as it's just meant to be a horror event for Halloween.

Speaking of death, for every character that signs up, the mods will do a coinflip to whether the character dies or not during the plot. If they die, they will also be given a specific day on which the character will die - and then it's up to the player to decide how they die. If you definitely want your character to die, you can go ahead and note that in your sign up and we'll just give you a date of death. Deaths for this plot will be penalty free (meaning they won't lose their regains) and they will revive at the end of the plot.

Gate Event: Land of the Remembered
For October's event, we will be visiting the Land of the Remembered from Mexican folklore! Characters will be asked to assist in helping prepare for Día de los Muertos. They will also be able to reunite with any deceased loved ones that they still remember from this life or their previous life, though they are all fancy looking skeletons now. Prepare for lots of emotional pain and crying. Characters who take part in the horror plot will still be able to visit this realm, as it'll be around all month.

Those who are looking for a little more action will be able to take part in a maze run that is being held as a bet between the two gods of this realm (yeah remember those guys from the May 2022 plot? They're back). But for the most part, have fun with skeletons because shit's gonna hit the fan next month!

Please keep in mind if you are signing up, you are consenting to the possibility that your character may die this plot! There is no guaranteed survival in this plot.

Finally regarding the roles that characters would be designated: This can be one of five following roles. Your character doesn't have to fit into this role personality-wise fully to be a role. They will be psychologically manipulated to fit into their roles, even if it's vastly out of character for them otherwise. Please pick one from the following:

The Athlete: These characters will be influenced to be more aggressive and have significantly lower IQs.

The Promiscuous: These characters will be influenced to be more flirtatious and struggle to focus on anything other than whoever they're hitting on at the time.

The Scholar: These characters will be more inclined to get lost in books and want to figure out the mystery of the place even if it's at great risk to their lives.

The Fool: These characters will struggle to take anything seriously, snapping off witty one-liners and not understanding anything going on.

The Virgin: These characters will be influenced to be more demure and meek. They're more inclined to panic and run from a situation.
