October Plotting & CR Post

Hello everyone! It's time for the announcement and plotting post for October!

OOC Housekeeping

• The Zodiac Network Post will go up October 1st, with a midmonth post going up October 15th. The monthly event log will be posted October 4th.
• A new AU Workshop will be posted October 14th.
• If you haven't already, please remember to check in for activity! Activity is due by the end of the month!
• Just a reminder for anyone who hasn't joined yet, but we have a game discord for current players! It's completely optional to join, but come in and say hi!
• Players can now return unwanted goodwill items through the regain page. For every 2 goodwill items, you will receive one free gacha pull.

World Changes

• Higashikata Fruit Parlor can now be found in Midtown!
• The Blacksmith's guild is now in Undertown for all your blacksmithing needs!
• The Ameno Statue of Seven is now on Cathedral Hill!
• The Geo Statue of Seven is now shirtless outside the mall!

Side quests
New Side Quests have been added for the month of October! Go ahead and sign up! If you haven't turned in quests for August gacha points, you can still do so until the end of the month! However, signing up for any September quests is now closed.

POKEGO Update
Thanks to everyone's research into the Willow matter, Professor Oak will write and thank them for the information they sent to him. It's not happy news by any means, but he thinks he can use it to help find some peace about the matter. So you did a good thing for grandpa guys!

For this month, POKEGO has finally completed their Spirit Energy Reader based on the device they borrowed from Zodiac. With this reader, they will be able to pinpoint likely locations of Spirit Gates and any labyrinths created by OU arrivals without the assistance of Zodiac. They will also be able to figure out the source of all the increased Spirit Energy-- there are several tears within the Spirit Vein itself that are causing the leak, caused by Willow. Now how they will go about fixing those tears is another question since flying directly into the Spirit Vein is genuinely well, a bad idea.

Black Order Update
Since the Black Order choose to destroy Rukkhadevata's records, the memories of her are completely erased. As such, the Black Order will have no memory of assigning you a mission in September. Huh, guess it was a month off!

As for the month of October, due to the arrival of a Sacred Gate, the Black Order will be tasked with doing guard duty for the gate! They will be expected to watch the gate and make sure no hapless civilians wander into the gate, or that anyone does it any harm. If anyone attempts to harm the gate, the Black Order will be expected to stop them by any means necessary.

Town Events
It'll be an Earth element month, so the weather will be a pleasant autumn season! That said, throughout the month it will get foggier and foggier. A full moon will be happening from October 27th to October 29th, so right before Halloween. Speaking of Halloween, a Japanese-style Halloween festival will be held in Kami State park this year and Spirit Halloween will be all over the city.

Meanwhile in the stable gates, Stardew Valley will be holding it's own Halloween event and in Kanto there will be an increase of Ghost-type Pokemon! Go catch those boos.

October Horror Plot
As mentioned in the September Event log, October will be having two event logs - the main one and a side opt-in horror plot. The horror plot will be based on Cabin in the Woods and Until Dawn. For four days (October 7th - October 10th), signed up characters will be whisked away to a special Spirit Realm and assigned classic horror-movie roles (Athlete, Promiscuous, Scholar, Fool and Virgin) that they will find themselves acting like even if it clashes with their original personality. From there, they will be expected to survive for four days from constant threats. Not only that, but all regained powers and items will not be on their person and they will not have access to the Libra network during the four days.

This side of the event is entirely opt-in and players will need to sign up their characters to participate in the comment section below. Sign ups will be open until October 9th and characters must be at least 18 years of age in order to participate (yes we bumped it up from last month's estimate just to be safe). Characters who aren't signed up for the plot will have no way to interfere with the plot, and in fact will not even realize anything is amiss while the other characters are missing. They may notice that the characters are missing, but find themselves compelled to rationalize that they are absent for normal reasons like a fishing trip or being busy with work. This way, characters can go about their lives without players needing to figure out how not to make their character panic for four days straight.

Please be aware that this is very much a horror plot. As such it will be containing instances of psychological manipulation, drugging, isolation, paranoia and violent death. If that's not your cup of tea, that's perfectly fine! There is nothing meta-plot wise that'll be missed by not participating in this event, as it's just meant to be a horror event for Halloween.

Speaking of death, for every character that signs up, the mods will do a coinflip to whether the character dies or not during the plot. If they die, they will also be given a specific day on which the character will die - and then it's up to the player to decide how they die. If you definitely want your character to die, you can go ahead and note that in your sign up and we'll just give you a date of death. Deaths for this plot will be penalty free (meaning they won't lose their regains) and they will revive at the end of the plot.

Gate Event: Land of the Remembered
For October's event, we will be visiting the Land of the Remembered from Mexican folklore! Characters will be asked to assist in helping prepare for Día de los Muertos. They will also be able to reunite with any deceased loved ones that they still remember from this life or their previous life, though they are all fancy looking skeletons now. Prepare for lots of emotional pain and crying. Characters who take part in the horror plot will still be able to visit this realm, as it'll be around all month.

Those who are looking for a little more action will be able to take part in a maze run that is being held as a bet between the two gods of this realm (yeah remember those guys from the May 2022 plot? They're back). But for the most part, have fun with skeletons because shit's gonna hit the fan next month!

I mean. It'll be fine. Don't worry about it.

Finally regarding the roles that characters would be designated: This can be one of five following roles. Your character doesn't have to fit into this role personality-wise fully to be a role. They will be psychologically manipulated to fit into their roles, even if it's vastly out of character for them otherwise. Please pick one from the following:

The Athlete: These characters will be influenced to be more aggressive and have significantly lower IQs.

The Promiscuous: These characters will be influenced to be more flirtatious and struggle to focus on anything other than whoever they're hitting on at the time.

Touya had different plans, finding he had a passion for art and the macabre--and upon chasing his own dream instead of his parents', now lives alone, having been disowned as a failure. He still struggles with the idea that magic is real--and has no idea he actually has magic of his own, yet. Event Plans: I am almost certainly signing her up for horror plot, just deciding on THINGS. OTHER THAN THAT there is definitely a very good chance that the other half of the event will deeply upset her, because SOMEONE still isn't over a certain person's death at all, so there's that too. Basically all kinds of potential trauma!

Event Plans: seeing as kni only knows (read: cares about) one person who has died, i'm excited to toss him into Día de los Muertos. as for halloween, this will be his first so i'm here for getting him lost in a spirit halloween shop, trying candy corn and not hating it, and convincing someone to give him a knife so he can carve a pumpkin 😇 he promises that's all he'll use it for. i'm also open to all kinds of fun shenanigans bc i love halloween and all things october-related.

About: local trash can fire pirate man accidentally runs headfirst into his series’ big metaplot, tries to play both sides for his own benefit and immediately is slammed with trauma and grief. kidding aside, Edward’s a pirate from the Golden Age of Piracy who’s found himself caught up in the big war between the Assassins and the Templars bc he killed a defector from the Assassins and just assumed his identity to claim his money! (the Templars took…embarrassingly long to clock what was happening here. big L.)

at least initially, Edward’s biggest goal in life is just to get stupid rich and come back to his estranged wife with LOTS of cash so they can live together in comfort. but then he went through the end of the Golden Age of Piracy and saw many of his friends die and his own ambitions led him to disaster and betrayal. the biggest thing was the death of his friend Mary Read, who saw something good inside him and the potential for being a good Assassin despite Edward being consistently an asshole.

in Kaisou, Edward’s slowly beginning to come to terms with the fact that he mangled so many of his relationships, especially his marriage to Caroline, and he’s still dealing with the grief of finding out via the library about her death. he’s started to make tentative steps towards Assassin-hood, although he’s still trying to earn money, now to pay rent on his apartment and keep his chef rat happy. he currently works at the Vogue and part-time at Vergil’s antique shop.
Event Plans: Edward’s getting in the horror plot! he gets to live but has to deal with the lasting trauma of the Horrors and also watching a close friend fucking die again and he can do absolutely fucking nothing. AGAIN. so that’s going to break his poor little heart again!

I’m also probably going to toss him into Day of the Dead celebrations so he can weep on Caroline’s fancy lil skeleton. and then on Blackbeard’s and Mary’s.

but the biggest thing is EDWARD IS GETTING THE JACKDAW BACK. that’s right. PIRATE SHIP COMING SOON!!!!

Event Plans:Saori will be in the Horror Event as an Athlete who...somehow survives the whole ordeal. Well, at least she has experience with dealing and surviving horror based stuff.

Either way, she'll want some booze and a box of kittens to smother her face later. Outside of that, she'll join in on the Land of Remembered event and some light partying to help heal from the earlier trauma.

And for some reason, Jamie hates Halloween a lot in his current life, not knowing that it might have been stemmed from Harry witnessing his parents dying on that fateful night. Event Plans:
Danny's still dealing with randomly developing ice powers last month, so figuring out how to get that under control is going to be a major theme this month. He's lost a lot of his close CR recently, so I'm going to be focusing on getting him out and meeting new people. Anyone want a ghostboy friend?

Since its Halloween month, there will be ghost puns and pranks.

And of course he'll be heading to the Land of the Remembered. Possibly meeting a few people from his past life? Though that might be a bit awkward, considering how little he remembers of them.

Event Plans: ...Until she dies! She's getting thrown into the horror plot. Whereas she was more vulnerable during her Krusnik kidnapping, she's going to be more active this time. When the deaths start happening, she's going to do her best to try to protect those around her. It doesn't work.

About: She used to be a god but now she's a NEET. She's getting better, though.
Event Plans: Ei is going to go through to the realm and meet her sister. It's going to be very sad for her. She's trying her best. A lot of her talks with Zhonlgi and Venti have centered around moving on from the past, so this will be an emotional event for her.

About: Local former (?) assassin who is incapable of feeling fear and commits many war crimes. So many war crimes. So many.
Event Plans: I'm on the fence about throwing her in the murder plot, but if I don't, I'd love any general CR! She would probably stay away from the gate as she doesn't have any real reason to speak with the dead (that wouldn't involve a ton of headcanon).

About: A high school student with a green thumb... who can also talk to plants! Gentle and avoids conflict, he still holds a very strong power. Souta cares deeply about others, whether person or plant. He loves flowers, fantasy, and magic.
Event Plans: He will definitely be in Stardew Valley harvesting pumpkins and visiting the Halloween festival. Possibly going to the Land of the Remembered, since he would recall those two gods, and also seeing some of the people he read about this month! Including a potential family reunion.
Anything else? A Bone to Pick (Up) would actually bring some canon memories for him, if anyone wants to join on this side quest.

About: A small bookworm with big ambitions. She has the power of transformation thanks to nanomachines. Eve was traveling with a team of sweepers (bounty hunters) before arriving in Kaisou. She now lives in the cottage where she is surrounded by tall people (and Kni). Slowly learning about normal life, Eve is still awkward with emotions thanks to her tragic backstory.
Event Plans: While she'll go to the Land of the Remembered to support others, there will be no one for her there. Which will be a different kind of pain. Also hopefully she gets to have an actual Halloween celebration this year! The demon kidnappings distracted her last time.
Anything else? Still tentatively thinking canon update. Also, side quests! Life Lines & Sleepless in Kaisou look like they'd be interesting, but I'm open to others as well.

Event Plans: Thinking of sending him into the gate to see some of his friends who passed during the war in Ylisse. Will also have him around town for in town stuff.
