November Plotting & CR Post

Hello everyone! It's time for the announcement and plotting post for November!

OOC Housekeeping

• The Zodiac Network Post will go up November 1st, with a midmonth post going up November 15th. The game wide event log will go up November 4th.
• If you haven't already, please remember to check in for activity! Activity is due by the end of the month.
• Just a reminder for anyone who hasn't joined yet, but we have a game discord for current players! It's completely optional to join, but come in and say hi!

World Changes

• The Last Stand, a food cafe in University district that serves actually good Sharlayan food.

Side quests
New Side Quests have been added for the month of November! Go ahead and sign up! If you haven't turned in quests for October gacha points, you can still do so until the end of the month! However, signing up for any October quests is now closed.

Town Events
As mentioned before, by the end of the October, the sun will no longer rise within Kaisou. This will continue through the first half of November through the conclusion of the November event, where the sun will very slowly begin to show up again throughout the second half of the month. This also applies to the stable realms (aka Kanto and Stardew Valley). Best invest in sunlamps before they sell out!

NPCs are going to continue noticing strange things, and there is a growing sense of panic due to you know, the sun being gone. This effect will also slowly go away once the November plot concludes.

The monster-filled tears from October will also continue. But not only those kinds of tears, as OU Labyrinths that OU characters first arrived in can also reappear and be available for other people to see. These labyrinths can be exactly how they appeared in the app, OR they can be modified to reflect any growth/changes the character has had since they arrived in Kaisou to their overall mindset. How they are modified are completely up to players!

Finally during the first half of November, AU characters will witness signs of the dead coming to visit them, either from people who have passed in this lifetime, or people who passed in their previous life. These visits can either be positive or negative, depending on the nature of the relationship.

Free Gacha + Another Treat
During the month of November, every character will get 3 free gacha pulls! New items have been added to the gacha pool, so check it out. In addition to the gacha pull, every character will receive a random Yu-Gi-Oh card that they'll be able to use in November's event realm only. Characters will gain either summonable companion or a special ability based on the card given to them.

If you wish to redeem your gacha and Yu-Gi-Oh card, comment down below to the gacha comment with your character! Players can deem free gacha pulls until November 30th!

Gate Event: Duat
For this month's event, characters will be traveling to Duat, the Ancient Egyptian Underworld! Characters will be traveling through Duat in hopes of solving a dilemma that has caused the sun to go away. While there, characters will also be encountering Yu-Gi-Oh cards, snakes, makeovers, snakes, cats, snakes, being Judged, and snakes. In other words, this is your warning that this plot will contain snakes.

It should also be noted that any character that gets any powers directly from the God featured in the Abrahamic faiths (aka Christianity, Judaism and Islam) or any of His servants (angels, etc) will be unable to use those abilities while in this particular realm. This does not apply to any fallen angels, demons, or characters with Kaisou-original Light Elemental powers (though light powers will be weakened overall due it being a shadow month). Characters who go into the realm with open signs of worship of Him will be allowed in but might get a fair amount of stink-eye. Apparently you can't drop ten plagues on folks without them getting salty over it. Lame.

Weird question for AU character.. for the dead coming to visit, would it be possible for Cale to have a dragon spirit/ghost come visit him? In his canon, it could speak and acted like a typical child, it just had the appearance of a small dragon. Or would it take a human like form instead?

I DIDN'T ASK THIS LAST MONTH but night vision. Since Roxas has perfect nigh vision, can he see in the current darkness?? Also, since his Keyblades are linked to the power of light in canon but he is Shadow here, will that cause anything bad?

And as for Chongyun's fox fire: Does he need to be in Kitsune form to use it, or does he only need to be partially transformed?

Event Plans:
Conveniently, Danny glows in the dark and can create balls of spooky green light. Sorry, the spooky part can't be avoided. He has a theme. He'll be offering to help anyone who needs a little extra light during the dark days.

Anyone want to team up with him for tears or labyrinth exploring? He's also available for sidequests.

He will be getting the chance to meet a ghost from his previous life, although I haven't decided which one.

He will also definitely be headed into Duat, if anyone wants to team up for that.

Outside of event things, Danny has started trying to learn how to use his abilities to fight, so he would appreciate anyone who wants to give him some tips.

Due to a memory recall, Danny now knows that there is a bad alternate future where he becomes a Complete Monster, and is not taking it well. He's going to start being touchy about morality issues and getting overprotective of his friends. Also probably a few nightmares. But of course he's avoiding telling his friends about it because they might do something crazy like worry about him.

In school, Danny's grades are starting to slip a little because he's having trouble focusing on class and on keeping his ghostliness under control at the same time. He's thinking about talking to some teachers about some options, but isn't really sure who to talk to. (Or what excuse to use to teachers not in on it)

About: Isabela is the eldest of the Madrigal grandchildren and a former golden child who had to hide her own dreams and identity in a facade of perfection from years of having to live by people’s expectations. Until her baby sister Mirabel accidentally turned a marriage proposal dinner upside down and caused her to honestly admit her thoughts on it and her frustrations, giving her an epiphany to let her true rebellious self out there and go nuts with her gift’s potential.
Event Plans: This month is going to be a big emotional roller coaster for Isabela. Because the gacha gods have cursed, I mean, blessed her with the ability to see into people’s past via touch and she is going to develop Rogue from X-Men levels of fear of touch for the foreseeable future. Not to mention investing on tons of gloves to negate any ill effects she might get. As for elemental stuff, I’m definitely going all in making Isa an Earth Elemental. She already has the plant aspect down, November is the right month to expand her future as an Earthbender.

In addition, Isa will be getting a chance to see her late Abuelo Pedro and it is going to be a very bittersweet experience. Like why did poor Abuelo had to die so young Disney, why Disney why?!?! And she will be heading into Duat, anyone wants to join in with her please let me know.

Also she has an interest in doing Fungus Among Us and The Pagemaster side quests. Feel free to come in and help her out.

Anything else? This November seems to be a very unlucky month for this Madrigal, whoops.

About: An enthusiastic teenage girl who is always willing to help others out, though she isn't above getting into a bit of trouble here and there. She's been able to see and talk to ghosts since she was little, and is working on getting some of her new powers under control.
Event Plans: Depending on the elements of the month, Moana might still be struggling a bit with her transformation and powers, since Water had been weaker. So she'll be trying to hide that from NPCs, especially as panic continues to rise.

She'll probably also get to see her grandmother again, which is cool because literally what she's been trying to do that ever since her grandmother passed away. But whether it's her grandmother from this lifetime or her previous one, I'm not sure. Maybe both!

Moana will definitely head to Duat to help out, so if anyone wants to do something with her let me know!

Outside of event things, her birthday is coming up on November 23! So I'm thinking she might have some get together with friends, but that might be handwaved depending on things.

About: A young woman who is not only super strong, but also sweet and cares deeply about her family and friends. She loves helping out other people, but is working on taking care of herself as well. She might also be a little possessed, but that's fine.
Event Plans: Luisa is still recovering from last month, both physically and emotionally because uh...things sure did happen. So I'm not sure how she'll really be doing things this month, though the darkness might make her panther spirit a bit more active, I'm not sure. I'll see how things go.

She'll probably want to help out in Duat too; mostly because of the whole sun problem, but also Ancient Egypt is cool. So if anyone wants to do stuff with her there, let me know!

Other than that, Luisa's birthday is also coming up on November 14! I'd like to do something for her birthday, but the challenge is getting her to actually mention it to people, heh.

Danny's always up for hanging out with Moana, and is also headed for Duat this month. Like I mentioned in plotting, he's going to start showing some signs of being not okay related to his bad future this month, so Moana is welcome to notice. And he'd want to help celebrate her birthday. I'll have to think about what he would get her.

Depending on how many points he has, Danny might be getting enhanced strength back this month, so that could be something to talk to Luisa about. If not this month, then next month.

Event Plans: WELL I MEAN Will is definitely going into the Duat to help bring back the sun. Honestly, he's worried as FUCK about Apollo, even though he's fully aware that it's the Egyptian pantheon having the Issue. He's not sure if this is also having some problems that are... bleeding into the other pantheons. So. Yeah. Anyone willing to help be an escort service for him will be appreciated 'cause he doesn't want to hang back this time.

For side-quests, Will is gonna help Isabela out for Fungus Among Us, and he'll also be interested in helping out with the Fragments of Sorrow quest. His healing should be fully regained by then, so he can make sure y'all are okay.

About: He's the high school drama teacher with a penchant for mischief and shitposting. Yuri also uses humor to deflect from most of his Problems. :)
Event Plans: Yuri will do his best to help out during the event, but he might let his new dragon out in the Duat to handle any monsters. Because he's very much not confident enough in his ability to defend himself. Unless I get back his sword skills but idk about that yet.

That said, for side-quests, he can help with Red Dead Reclamation or Work Sucks! He's open for a lot of other plots, too, so hit me UP.

Event Plans: She could really use some more CR, part of that's on me whoops, so I'm going to try and have her here and there. She'll investigate Duat if she thinks she's helping out, and I really would like her to have some quests this month too, so if there's anyone who'd want to pool talents on that, she'd be super down. Red Dead and Work Sucks are both things she'd probably be helpful with, especially with the sudden Vision that can sense magic lol, and she's definitely Intrigued by Fragments of Sorrow, but that's probably one that would take more doing to get her involved, since she hasn't had a chance to even learn pokemon are a thing, let alone encounter or prepare. and she's definitely doing pagemaster, she's a NERD
She REALLY wants to buckle down and learn to fight, and use her abilities new and old, but she might need a push on that considering how it goes. People have mentioned it briefly, but then all hell broke loose so :"D

Anything else? Having suddenly got wings last month, she's been probably cutting holes in all her own clothing to manage, so HOPEFULLY she'll discover/ask for help from the tailor this month and HOPEFULLY her clothing's state doesn't cause any aneurisms or trauma :P

Varian's labyrinth contains all of his failed inventions which includes the amber solution which is SUPER triggering for him. Anyone who missed out on his labyrinth when he arrived (or want to revisit it!) are welcome to come and see him freaking the hell out about it.
He'll be heading into Duat and having a real bad time there.

About: Former Chosen one who lived a screwed up life and then died. He currently works as an OnlyFans influencer and makes bank from that. Acts flirty but has severe trust issues and dislikes most people. He's got so many issues. So many.
Event Plans: Zelos would have an interest in helping return the sun. His labyrinth will also be available. For those canon familiar, it'll be a warped version of the entrance to the Tower of Salvation (You know, where they keep all the bodies!). For those not familiar....well. Be prepared for bodies.

About: An anime nerd who has a rather awful past both in canon and in his AU. He is in his second hear at Kaisou Uni where he studies art. Also he is a holy knight with powers from the holy spirit that are akin to possession - though he basically won't tell anyone this on account of not wanting to sound like a crazy person.
Event Plans: Jun actually will be completely barred entrance from Duat due to that whole possession thing. But he's rooting for you all!!!

Jane Porter & Dolores Madrigal

About: An artist and book lover who runs an art supplies/book store in Kaisou. Has taken being introduced to all this magical stuff in a Very Bad Month pretty well all things considered but is probably going to fall to bits a little when everything finally starts to calm down. Gregarious, generous to a fault, kind and gentle with a tendency to be able to prod at people's emotional sore spots without realising.

Event Plans: Jane's very much a sun child and the total lack of sunlight is going to start making her pretty unhappy pretty quickly. When it comes to the Duat, she's going to be taking some regained powers and Ryu-Ran and doing her best. Good luck telling her she shouldn't. She's very stubborn and prideful when she gets her head stuck on something.
Anything else? I'm going to be investing in some magical 'regains' for Jane this month! Specifically Wind elemental magic, possibly with a side of healing if I have enough points left over. She is not going to realise either of these things have happened without some kind of inciting event, the former at least of which will happen either ICly or off-screen before the Duat event starts.

Character Name: Dolores Madrigal

About: A mild-mannered, privately passionate young woman from an isolated Colombian community. Dolores is a return to Kaisou and was here for a few months on her last visit. Totally jazzed to be back while all hell is breaking loose. She has the tendency to fade into the background in social situations and her enhanced hearing means she always knows more about what is going on around her than anyone has actually told her. I am always up for her having overheard things people wouldn't want anyone else to hear There is a post for this here.

Event Plans: With some shiny new elemental 'regains' under her belt Dolores is going to be braving the Duat with her new friend Cyber Soldier of Darkworld. It's a lot easier to be bold when you're being protected by a robot. Though she isn't super sure of why everything is suddenly hell, she knows she wants to put a stop to it because uh?? the sun?? bring it back??
Anything else? Dolores is going to regain her canon gift (enhanced hearing) and some neat fire powers this month. The former she knows how to use. The latter is going to need some trial and error and possibly setting something on fire accidentally. Expect a panicked network post because while the sensible response to 'what do I do with this thing I just set ablaze' is 'put it out', you know how people turn kinda stupid when they're panicking? Yeah.

Danny grew up in Kaisou, so its possible he would have gone into Jane's store a few times. He was a skeptic until four months ago, and would be willing to talk to her about adjusting to everything. (He hasn't had an easy adjustment either.)

Danny also knows a few members of the Madrigal family, and he's had a few experiences with panicking over new powers, so he'll likely comment in to that post. Hearing wise, she might notice that... he just kind of stops breathing and having a heartbeat sometimes. Half ghost, what can you do.

Event Plans: OH MAN. i sort of glossed over a labyrinth intro for ease of acclimation because dinosaurs were happening, but i love that kind of thing so i'm excited to play around in the space a bit and see if we can get dumbshit mcgee to be less secretive. that said, his is probably uh, Bad. fire, death, traumas, mythological heroes trying to kill him, all that fun stuff that'll need detailed subject headers. if you're even passably familiar with canon fate zero you'll probably have the general concept and if not...welp. might make a proper log for this one, we'll see how i'm feeling.

apart from that he's going to be going to duat with his new buddy barrel dragon. this can only go well. surely it will be fine and no one will have to fear having their questionable morality judged.

About: A half-elf dancer and former thief who also happens to moonlight as a god slayer. He's a storyteller and fairly decent at playing the lute and lyre, but his real passion will always be helping people.
Event Plans: Amal's labyrinth will be able to be explored! He was one of the characters who were the game as it started, and as an established OU, he didn't get a labyrinth writeup... so this is going to be your opportunity to peek into his terrifying brain, as it were. It might have some similarities to the other WoLs here but I promise it will be uniquely fucked up too. You may want to brush up on Amal's permissions post in case some of these unsavory subjects are touched upon. There will be plenty of warning in the post itself too.

After spending the majority of last month's plot saving people, I plan on getting him into some kind of sticky situation, so he'll need some healing help at the very least.
Anything else? I am open to sidequests with Amal this month! He has a small luck boost, but this is subject to change. He's pretty handy to have around though! Also I put together an info post earlier this month.

She was born as a summoner, and was unfortunately kidnapped and her summons taken so they could be used as weapons of mass destruction (not even kidding, they wipe out ENTIRE COUNTRIES.) In Kaisou, she's the daughter of a world-class European fashion designer and starting college. She only has eyes for theatre, however, and moved from London in order to spend time with her late father's family and find herself. She has a deep love of all things drama, especially Shakespeare, and would have more concrete Broadway aspirations if she didn't have such terrible stage fright when singing... We'll see what happens. After all, the devil wears Prada.
Event Plans: Though I ended up burning out a bit last month and not tagging around, she still has healing services to offer. She will be weakened as a Light element but I think between trying to solve the Sun Issue and being visited by her father's spirit, she'll have a lot to think about.
Anything else? I would really like to get her some CR with other college students, particularly those with an interest in drama, musical theater, and literature as they would be her classmates.

There is also a chance he might go into a monster tear for Key of Elde discoveries. (Since I didn't get to it last month.) Souta will be very modivated to help get the sun back, and he'll have a nice dragon friend for Duat.

About: Ashley Fell (or Mr. Fell, as he will generally introduce himself) is new to Kaisou and has set up a shop to 'sell' occult related antiquities (but like his canon-self, he parts with as little as he can). As far as Fell is concerned, he has no magical ability at all. It's largely just academic. Of interest to him are the Black Order, and The Fellowship of Skalds. He currently belongs to neither, but suspects his family may have once had ties to the Black Order.

He is British, canonically an angel, and has been CRAU'd: once at a magic school where he also studied how to summon a (specific) demon, once AU'd in NYC where he met Anthony and Alec, and lastly in a magical world.
Event Plans:

Aziraphale! I love Good Omens, so I'm thrilled to see him here and definitely need to tag him!

Anyway I'm Yuff aka the mod in charge of writing the plot. I wanted to poke you specifically because ngl when I wrote the plot to have power caps on characters connected to Abrahamic God? It was fully meant to block one of my own characters that has a Holy Spirit possession canonically (since lbr plots are no fun if the mod's character does everything) and I was not anticipating an angel to get apped (happy you're here though!).

But anyway, since I want you to still be able to participate in the plot - while Jun (aka my character) got completely blocked entry to Duat ... I'm going to leave it completely up to you if that block also applies to Aziraphale!

If you still want him to go into Duat, that's totally fine! We can say he just hasn't regained enough power for the Egyptian pantheon to detect what he'll eventually be (though any angel powers he does regain will get nerfed while in the realm like anyone else with abrahamic god power). Or if you want him to be hit by the same angry hieroglyph barrier, you can do that too! Or third option- if you want him to go into Duat, regain some of his angelic power while in there, and THEN get ejected- we can totally do that too. Any way you want to play it, we can totally work with it!
