Announcement: Kids & the Spirit Realm
Hello everyone! Mod Yuff with a quick announcement regarding kid characters (aka any kids who are 15 years or younger).
First of all, I want to make it very clear that no one is in trouble, and no one did anything wrong. This isn't a response to any drama, or anything like that. Sometimes things just progress in a way where rules need to be amended for things to continue making sense ICly, as well as prevent any future potential problems down the road.
That said, there is going to be an adjustment to children's characters ability to engage with the Spirit Realm. ICly, this is being treated as a consequence of the May Event where a couple kid characters died from the plot (again, none of those players are in trouble you're fine) and Zodiac was spurred into action to try to prevent that from happening again. OOCly, this is a compromise the mod team came up with in order to balance the dilemma between "adults want to protect the kids" and "kid characters have a right to get involved in plots", while also hoping this helps creates opportunities for CR among characters.
So starting July 1st, Zodiac will add a feature on the kid-version of the app so that any character who is 15 years or younger will be barred from entering any portions of the Spirit Ream deemed dangerous unless they are accompanied by an older character. The older character could be as young as 16 years old, it just needs to be someone older. As long as they have an older character nearby (in some cases this can be handwaved too), younger characters can engage with dangerous events as normal.
If a younger character tries to enter these dangerous parts of the Spirit Realm alone, they will find an invisible barrier blocking their entry. If the kid intentionally tries to go off alone once in the Spirit Realm - once they are 100 yards away from any older characters, a phone alert will be sent out to everybody in the nearby vicinity. If the kid does not get within range of an older character within 10 minutes of the alert going off- they will be automatically teleported back to the Zodiac HQ in Kaisou. This will happen regardless of if they have their phone on them or not.
This rule will go into effect July 1st, meaning it doesn't apply to June's event! From this point on, it'll be noted in the event logs when a realm is considered dangerous enough for this to apply. Younger characters will still be able to visit non-dangerous parts of Spirit Realms by themselves unimpeded.
