Hello everyone! It's time for the announcement and plotting post for August!
OOC Housekeeping
- The Zodiac Network Post will go up August 1st, with a midmonth post going up August 15th. There will be one event log, that'll be posted August 15th.
- If you haven't already, please remember to check in for activity! Activity is due by the end of the month!
- Just a reminder for anyone who hasn't joined yet, but we have a game discord for current players! It's completely optional to join, but come in and say hi!

Faction Updates
Just noting that we're combining the three factions together into one section for space!
POKEGO: POKEGO, due to the fact that several of you got caught up in the jumanji antics, Professor Oak is giving you some time off! Enjoy your fun in the sun... okay nevermind, none of you are living your air conditioned rooms we get it you nerds. As always, you can check out updates to the PICHU facility here and information about Cygnus Academy here.
Zodiac: Did you enjoy your time off? No you got attacked by an evil game? Well too bad! With the appearance of Dungeon Gates, Zodiac is seizing the money making opportunity and is expecting you guys to work overtime with helping monitoring the clearing of these gates... and the acquistion of the loot within. But they will definitely be painting it as Zodiac being concerned about people's safety, oh yes.
Black Order: This month, the Black Order will be tasked with collecting all the Jumanji game boards, as well as investigating the origin of these boards. Through careful investigation, they will learn the game boards were NOT just a weird spirit realm anomaly, but intentionally placed. More details will be revealed in the mission debrief.
City Events
This month, these things will be going on in the city:
- It will be a Fire Element month! This means the fire element will be stronger, while the wind element will be weaker. Weather wise, it's going to be extremely hot! Expect a pretty near constant heatwave (but thankfully not muggy) throughout the month. Due to the lack of rain, wildfires are also a concern so maybe hold off on the gender reveal parties.
- In the Kanto region, there will be several outbreaks of fire, fighting, and steel-type pokemon! If you're hoping to catch pokemon of that type, this is the month to try your luck! Otherwise be careful not to get eaten.
- The Kaisou State Fair will be going on! Go to the fair to get the unusual fair food, ride some rides, and pay honor to the great art of butter sculptures! The fair will be going on throughout the month.
These will be starting up at the start of the month. There won't be any mod run event logs on these events, so feel free to make your own posts on it!
Danger Realm: Solo Leveling Dungons
This month, the Danger realms mechanic will be making a comeback! This month, the realms will be the Gates from Solo Leveling! ICly, these will be known as "Dungeon Gates". These gates appear as blue whirlpool portals and contain dungeon zones that looks reminiscent of typical D&D settings (aka feel free to use D&D monsters in the realms). They will go away if you defeat the "boss monster" of the gate. However, if any of these gates are left alone for a week, a "dungeon break" will occur and the monsters will be able to step into Kaisou.
Dungeon Gates will contain the following materials:
These gates will be found outside the barrier around Kaisou, and most of them will fall in the low to medium difficulty range (thinks E-rank through C-rank for those who know the canon). As soon as the August 1st Zodiac post goes up with IC details, feel free to handwave your character running these dungeons - or threading them out for some CR fun!
If you wish to obtain any of the crafting materials (or donate some to the goodwill for extra points)- please comment below! In order to get points, you MUST thread it with a minimum of 3 comments from your character.
At the same time these lower dungeons are appearing, rumors begin to circulate of a rare dungeon gate that contains the ingredients for the Holy Water of Life - a long rumored potion among paranormal folks that is said to cure any diseases or ailments if you drink it (think of stories of the holy grail and/or fountain of youth- same kind of deal).
This rare gate will manifest August 15th and will be an extremely high level dungeon (called a Red Gate) that will trap the party inside once they go in. As this will be a threaded out scenario, this particular dungeon will have sign ups (on a comment below) with a cap of 10 characters (1 per player). The dungeon will also be using the Kaisou dice system for combat. Since the difficulty level will be known ahead of time, the signed up characters MUST be combat proficient.
The ingredients for the Holy Water of Life will NOT be in the dungeon due to plot reasons -- however, ICly the characters won't know that until the dungeon is cleared. :)
Spirit Realm Event: Beach Episode!
Due to Jumanji being absolutely crazy, the August plot will be a lot chiller for most of you! In the middle of the month, the El Nido resort will be inviting people to join their special summer activities! Head out for a beach weekend to enjoy the cool waves, sandy beaches, breaking watermelon, and basically every cliche beach episode event.
The spirit realm log will be going up on August 15th.

Quick rundown of relevant abilities: Anby is a skilled blade user with lightning based attacks! She's been basically fighting her whole life and spend her past life running through dungeons like this, so she at least knows what's what.

Quick rundown of relevant abilities: Kinich is military trained, adept at Fire magic, and has a Dendro Vision that's catered to combat. He's also highly maneuverable, works very well in a team, and can enchant weapons with Fire magic. Also he has a gun.

Quick rundown of relevant abilities: Rose has a decent number of DPS abilities from all over the spectrum. She's a reaper canonly, and she has a big fuck-off soul weapon scythe.

Quick rundown of relevant abilities: Combat specialist with a lifetime worth of demon hunting skills under his belt. Half demon with busted regenerative abilities, a demonic transformation, more weapons than you can count. Also guns he never has to reload.

Quick rundown of relevant abilities: Has the ability to have bursts of very sudden strength due to his Berserk ability, but also with his Demonic Pride magic. Has a boost at night time, can slow time, and can turn invisible and move through shadows as if he's a part of them. He has 3 large shadows he can summon at will( iron, tank, igris ) which can fight for him, and he can also self-revive even when he dies. Has the ability to pact-bond with Lapis which allows him to use her abilities as well.

Quick rundown of relevant abilities: Very skilled combatant with a scythe (or anything with a blade she can improvise), with control over shadow and light. Has both a dragon form and a cosmic eldritch bird form, along with the ability to change into a wisp and dip in and out of shadow. Can summon a demon or spirit to assist her in battle. Has regeneration, and the ability to heal to the point where she can bring someone back from death
