Hello everyone! It's time for the announcement and plotting post for May!
OOC Housekeeping
- The Zodiac Network Post will go up May 1st, with a midmonth post going up May 15th. There will be one event log, that'll be posted May 15th.
- If you haven't already, please remember to check in for activity! Activity is due by the end of the month!
- Just a reminder for anyone who hasn't joined yet, but we have a game discord for current players! It's completely optional to join, but come in and say hi!
- April Danger Realm Items have been added to Gacha Goodwill's inventory. If you wish to add to the inventory, you have until the end of April to comment here!
World Changes
- Slammer Seals are now in Kaisou.
- You can also buy seal sunglasses at stores!
Side quests
May Side quests are now available! April Side quests are no longer available to sign up for.
If you wish to redeem past quests for regain points or gacha points, you can please do so! That said, any regain point redemption for April should be done BEFORE the AC check begins, and be added to your April activity comment.
POKEGO Update: New Feature!
This month, POKEGO will have a new project! The POKEGO Animal Shelter will be opening up, where characters can donate animals they earned through gacha or grab bags for points! Characters both from POKEGO and not from POKEGO will have the option to work at the shelter as well!
The shelter will officially open for business May 1st (aka after this AC period).

Zodiac Update
Good news for Zodiac! You'll be getting the month off... on the surface. However, with Pride month rapidly approaching, you guys may be frequently pulled into extra meetings and overtime hours to help prepare for thos celebrations.
Black Order Update
During April, Black Order helped stopped an attempt to gather the incredibly dangerous substance known as Lyrium. While some folks were killed by demons in the attempt, you did manage to stop any lyrium from being brought into Earth. You also learned that the mysterious "H" is none other than Hojo, a former researcher for the Black Order. Not only that, but he seems to be researching developing a drug that'd increase magical aptitude or allow people to get divine powers. Concerning!
This month, there's not much movement on the Hojo side of things. However, they will be asked to help out guarding and making sure no one disrupts the process that'll be occurring in this month's Spirit Realm.
City Events
So just to preface things off: the past four months, we've done an experiment where we posted two logs- a city log and a spirit real log. And based on observing player activities over the past four months, we've decided that going forward- we will be shortening it down to just a Spirit Realm log in the middle of the month, while city events will get listed here on this post! Starting today, players will be welcome to engage with stuff listed in the city realm through their own logs and posts!
So this month, these things will be going on in the city:
- It will be a Shadow month! This means the shadow element will be stronger, while light element will be weaker. Weather wise, it will be pleasant late spring weather. However, the nights will be much darker than usual, giving a sense of unease.
- And to add to that unease, there will be increased ghost activity! Characters will find themselves dealing with more hauntings, from spirits they can't recognize to maybe some spirits they do recognize -- especially if they're an OU. Some of these ghosts will be friendly, some will be depressing, and some will just be looking to wreck people's lives. If you want to help deal with the ghosts, you can either perform exorcisms or help them fulfill any unfinished business they have.
- In the Kanto region, there will be several outbreaks of ghost, poison and dark-type pokemon! If you're hoping to catch pokemon of that type, this is the month to try your luck! Otherwise be careful not to get eaten.
- There will be a stargazing festival in Blue Fish Lake park! Thanks to the Spirit Vein being darker from the Shadow element, the stars are much easier to see this month! As such, astronomers and astrologists alike have decided to put aside their differences (for now) and hold a festival! Enjoy gazing up at the stars through telescopes and learning about space from POKEGO and other science oriented folks. Meanwhile if you're more interested in the astrology side of things- several seers have set up booths where you can get fortune telling readings or learn more about astrology. Libra App Seers are welcome to set up their own booths and earn some money! But it should be noted that there's one fortune teller that'll make claims he can change your fate. If you take him up on it, you'll find that either your wish will get granted in a way you do not want, or you'll just get outright scammed. If you want something specific to happen with that, just ask in the Questions area and the mods will work something out with you!
- There will be no danger realms this month! They will return this summer, but enjoy a month without any hellgates.
- College finals will be taking place this month! Meanwhile for high school, the end of the year for them will be June 1st.
Spirit Realm Event: Land of the Forgotten
This month's spirit realm event will be the Land of the Forgotten! The Land of the Forgotten is an afterlife realm that houses things that are both dead and forgotten. This is the same realm that was visited back in May of 2022, but luckily there will be no death soccer this time! But don't worry, there'll still be trauma.
The Land of the Forgotten is full of the ruins of worlds that no longer exist- aka the worlds that AU characters' past lives came from. Characters will be able to visit these ruins, though they will have to deal with monsters and wraiths that now occupied these places slowly turning to dust.
Not only that, but they will find that the Land of the Forgotten is in the process of processing worlds that have been freshly destroyed due to various means. As such, the gods of this realm are trying to sort out which souls should be added to Kaisou's reincarnation cycle or should be sent to the afterlife, as well as finding places to put the ruins that managed to come here. They will need assistance in doing that, especially as a couple new tears in the the realm have complicated things.
Some of these new ruins may resemble the worlds that the OU characters came from. Since we know this is a DEEPLY traumatic thing, we're leaving it up to players to volunteer if they want their OUs' worlds to be part of this. It can also be an AU version of their world (because there's countless dimensions), though... not like they will have an easy way of knowing that. If you and your castmates (please talk to each other before volunteering) are interested in that, please let us know! Otherwise, the new places will be from more generic worlds.
The spirit realm event log will be going up May 15th.

if Jin Ling were to come to Dr. Facilier and ask him for a fortune, like "is it possible for me to split myself from my possessor without hurting either of us", how would that shake out for him? I'm looking to see Jin Ling get cursed or scammed—he's not always the most sensitive person and he's likely going to get way too loud or insult the good doctor by accident. if he gets a monster curse that's fine by me!
EDIT: okay so! the thing about Jin Ling is he has abandonment issues out the ass and he dearly, dearly misses his parents. he hasn't spoken to them in a long time because he's worried about them getting caught up in the supernatural, and that desire plays into his question—he wants to see his family again without the baggage of the supernatural coming along with him. another problem he has though is that he actually likes his ghost, and some tiny part of him doesn't want to be abandoned by someone he's come to see as a good friend. he wants to have his cake and eat it too, essentially—he wants to see his parents again and he doesn't want to lose his friend, desires that conflict with each other but both stem from the want to just Not Be Left Behind Again.
as for limitations...hmm, I'd rather not completely and permanently ruin the kid's life! I'm thinking of something he'd see as a terrible inconvenience at first, but can learn to live with or at least work around, like cat ears or suddenly turning into a bird when under stress, the like. I do have enough points to open a monster slot for JL, if I recall.

As we agreed in chat - Facilier will shake Jin Ling's hand and give him High Sense Presence meaning from this point on he can sense presence of others within 100 feet. Not just people, but ALL living things. Right down to tiny ants. Should Jin Ling have concerns about this, Facilier will shrug and say he gave Jin Ling exactly what he wanted. "Can't feel abandoned when you can feel everyone around you." All sales are final and if Jin Ling tries to push the issue, Facilier will just vanish himself away in a puff of purple smoke. Sucks to be you.

About: The personification of Death from a world that runs largely on folklore logic, Nito is at once very diligent about his job and in absolutely no rush about most anything at all. Why not take your time and enjoy things while they last?
Event Plans: Sudden influx of ghost activity? Sounds like Nito's going to have to work overtime. Given his specific world and What He Is, he'll also be offering advice to any folks who go looking through the ruins and look like they need some help coping with those feelings.
He might also punch a specific ghost in the face, for personal reasons.

NOTE: As of late, the ability to get a data signal from my workplace has tanked Significantly, to the point that the breakroom is no longer a guarantee for it. Because of this, I've often been unable to send Discord messages until I'm a good number of feet away from the building.
Mostly what that means is that I can't catch up on big discord chats the way I used to, so if something needs my attention, either send me a DM via my character accounts, private plurk, or even direct message on discord- I can still receive messages, and a DM on discord wouldn't get buried.

Type: Black Order AU
About: Socially defunct sphinx who went from 10 years of being a supreme rich kid to spending 10 years as the contract-adoptive 'son' of a Goddess in the middle of the woods. Lives in the Crystal Tower, enjoys animals and especially enjoys Baking Bread.
Tends to go around the city in either the guise of a housecat or a young man dressed in white, but he also tends to patrol local nightmares so that's another way people can find him (unfortunately).
Event Plans: OH BOY! Noa's canon specifically, at least on the DWRP end, ties into this really nicely.
When Ryslig ended, the world threatened to be torn apart and even devoured by, go figure, the 'World Eater'- manifesting as an elder god of a snail...thing. Characters were given the option of essentially carrying on in this massively wrecked place, or taking their chances with great big submarine arks positioned at the rifts to the void beyond- Noa did the latter!
What lay beyond was the Sea of Stars- a slurry of broken realities. The hope for such characters that took that plunge of course was then one part surviving in the eldritch sea, or possibly even finding another world to...well, fall into and keep going!
SO UH, THAT MAKES THIS VERY NEAT,
Did he just fall into reincarnation??? Questions he will be asking himself for a good bit, boy howdy.
In any case, I won't be bringing in ruins of Ryslig itself, but I will have a ruin of the ark, because either way, he got here somehow!

About: A university student focusing on the therapy and counselling stream, and a recent graduate of a Pokego Apprentice- she works as one of Gil's secretaries, and despite all the weirdess around her, still finds time to get flustered and irritated about the 'nonsense' of things like HEY!!! WHO SET THAT TREE ON FIRE!
Living her best life over all though, because she's picked up fighting enough that the idea of picking up a combat sidequest no longer gives her hives. She'd rather be mapping Hyrule though.
Event Plans: Yasuho being an AU, that means her world is somewhere in this mess- JoJo's is interesting in that there are at least two canonic realities, so fortunately, that doesn't affect anyone from parts 1-6 either!
As it is, this is a chance to show off some neat places from JoJolion. Ever wanna see Shakedown Road? A Ski-Lift House? Oh, Boy.
Alongside that though, she'll have her pokemon hanging around during this particular month- while it's not as bad as the Fall-Winter season, Shadow Months get her paranoid and miserable, so the extra security (and hugs, thanks Dusknoir) helps take the edge off.
I'm sure Dusknoir's weird ghost radio antenna won't do anything to complicate that!

About: A teenaged red echidna alien who's far too serious and far too naive for his own good. Likes grapes and punching things. Has been getting some actual character development in his time her, gasp.
Event Plans: So Knuckles is afraid of ghosts. Like terrified of them. And while Takame-sensei did indeed try to tell him he should try to learn to deal with that because there are ghosts around that... is easier said than done. Which is to say he's probably going to scream like a little girl at LEAST once.
Character Name: Beredvyn of Nal (aka Meredith Nelson)

Type: Normal AU
About: Midwestern gal who likes sports and swordfighting and was working on getting her career off the ground when a weird app showed up on her phone. Things have only gotten weirder since, and she's distinctly less than thrilled about it. Has a 'pet' griffin and is just kind of trying to deal with all this craziness without going crazy herself.
Event Plans: She's probably mostly going to be chilling this month because she's not into stargazing nor is she very interesting in delving into stuff from her past life.

About: Cheerful, friendly, outgoing, and packed with way more trauma under the surface than anyone her age ought to. Apparently that's what happens when you spend 3+ years saving the world from various threats instead of going to high school. Has been trying to make headway on working through her issues and traumas lately.
Event Plans: OH BOY. So not only has the destruction of the world/humanity already happened in her canon not once but twice now (they fixed it the first time, then it happened again!) but there was also a whole entire arc about having to destroy/end other alternate worlds to save the original one. Come find her in the Land of the Forgotten if you want fun (read: traumatic) times!
Also, this month marks a whole year since she was attacked by a Black Order zealot. I'm not doing anything major with this but there will be some subtle signs that all is not right for people close to her (or just plain observant) to notice, so lmk if you want to do anything with that.
