April Plotting & CR Post

Hello everyone! It's time for the announcement and plotting post for April!

OOC Housekeeping

• The Zodiac Network Post will go up April 1st and the event log will go up April 4th.
• A new rule has been implemented for people who app more than two characters. A player may app their first two characters with no time restrictions. However after you app a second character, we ask you wait one month between apping characters.
• More information has been elaborated on regarding magic and ghosts in the FAQ (under "Setting - Paranormal stuff") as well as a post about Possessions.
• The City Locations page has also been updated/redone! Thanks to Kay for tackling this project.
• If you haven't already, please remember to check in for activity! Activity is due by the end of the month. Characters who apped in March will also need to check in.
• Just a reminder for anyone who hasn't joined yet, but we have a game discord! It's completely optional to join, but come in and say hi!

World Changes

• Sea-Salt Ice Cream can be found any place that sells ice cream!
• Heartslabyul's Croquet Hedgehogs can be found around Kaisou! They are like regular hedgehogs but are pink, green and blue-- and also fine with being used as croquet balls.
• Void Denny's has opened near Undertown! It serves both regular and unusual foods, and it's always 2am there.
• The Amat Hot Springs are now open near Kami State Park!
• The Parasomnia Gun Shop is now open on Shopping Street! Go there for all your unusual gun needs.

Town Events
Spring is finally here in Kaisou! Throughout the month expect a mix of sunny and rainy days. New businesses have opened up in Undertown including a school to learn about magical powers (or teach if that's what you prefer) and a shop where you can buy dog, cat, rodent and bird pokemon (excluding legendaries and fossils).

Also for characters in school, Spring Break for all schools will take place during the second week of April (April 9th- April 17th) - just in time to take part of the gate event!

During the month of April, decorated eggs can be found all over town. They can either contain normal things for Easter eggs (money, chocolate) - or a piece of information about another player character (either secret information or just random facts). Any information revealed should be cleared by the character player in question!

Gate Event: Stardew Valley
This month's spirit realm will be based on the game Stardew Valley! Characters will be asked to help restore Stardew Valley back to it's former glory through doing tasks such as clearing land, farming, fighting monsters, assembling furniture, and partying. Time will pass differently in this realm like the last realm so it'll feel longer in the valley, but the bulk of the event will take place over the course of a couple days in Kaisou proper (meaning your characters won't miss much work or school).

While staying in Stardew Valley, characters will be rooming with other characters! Characters will be staying in houses that fit up to 4 characters. Initially the houses will be very cramp and have no kitchen, so prepare to be roughing some (improvements to living conditions will happen as characters do tasks). While you're free to choose your own roommates, for the sake of building CR we ask that only one of your Stardew Valley roommates be someone your character lives with in Kaisou.

Event Plans: Mirabel will throw herself into farming! But she will also party and maybe run into some monsters while exploring? She is also going to be experiencing the plot of Turning Red, in which she's going to learn how to control her fae curse (which will result in her getting stuck as a wolf for a few days, but ultimately becoming human again and learning to live with her curse).

She's also going to a hot springs later this month =D

Event Plans: Elliot will be coming along and helping with farming! Or trying to help but not being very good because manual labor is hard. Otherwise he'll be working hard on improving his own skills with magic so he's less helpless.

Jun had very rocky past thanks to being raised by a paranormal faction obsessed with possessions, but got adopted and has been living pretty happily the last few years. Jun is kind, extremely curious about everything, and also a huge anime nerd. He also can teleport and has a tendency to hang out on roofs in a white shrouded uniform at night because he can.
Event Plans: Jun will be coming along to the farm! He enjoys gardening and is regaining his enhanced physical abilities, so he'll be more useful than Elliot at least. I'm also open to there being eggs about him! Talk to me if you want to know silly facts or darker information particularly around his past.

Currently he's re-undergoing his angel transformation process, which means he currently cannot eat, drink or sleep. GREAT.
Event Plans: Zelos will not be going to Stardew Valley because he says hard pass on manual labor. So he'll be chilling back in Kaisou! I'm open to already established CR finding eggs about him! Please talk to me about what kind of information you'd like to know about our enigmatic redhead.

She's almost related to Tsukasa (he's her cousin's cousin, but she's unrelated to him herself), and Jun's adoptive father is a friend of her mom's family.

Event Plans: Definitely getting in on the Stardew thing. Lita's going to be in cabin 11, and Katida in 12. Lita's likely not going to be feeling at 100% because elemental shenanigans but will still try to help out in whatever way she's still able. As for Kat, well, how useful she'll be depends on what I decide on doing as far as regains go.

Stardew Valley: He's going to Stardew Valley! He doesn't have any experience farming but he's a strong, smart kid who can take orders. He'll need some encouragement to do normal farming, and will probably be more inclined to want to go fight monsters instead or build things.

About: Sociable, friendly, with almost an endless amount of patience - he's basically the personification of "aren't you tired of going apeshit? don't you want to be nice?". He's a senior at Kaisou University studying early childhood education while also working full time at a flower shop and doing art commissions. (He excels at photorealism, despite everything he is as a person.) Most people would describe him as "gentle", except on the rare occasions when he loses his temper.

Event Plans: ✨spring break✨

And also helping out at Stardew Valley! It'll actually be very nostalgic for him in the "triggers memories of his OU life" kind of way, so he'll probably be a bit more quiet and pensive than he usually would be. (Except at the party, because he loves parties.) He won't fair very well against the monsters as he has no combat magic (or mundane combat skills), but he does have a bit of healing magic so he'll be able to do some small patch ups on anyone who's out fighting. He doesn't mind hard labor, though, so he'll be fine most everywhere else. He'll also be rooming in Cabin 3!

About: Tsukasa is an 18 year old senior about to graduate HS and is attending college part time, but recently he woke up looking like an anime character and he doesn't know what to do about it. Normally he'd just code wizards and shit into the games he's making but he's worried he might be turning into one. He recently regained the ability to teleport and has learned to use it to avoid everything from awkward conversations to dentist appointments. Tsukasa is shy and needs friends badly despite his insistence to the contrary; he gets along best with people who are aggressively nice/outgoing and also genuinely kind people who are soft and patient and unrelentingly positive. Honestly the only reason he has friends at all are because they are people who didn't take no for an answer, so yeah.
Event Plans: He has a real weakness for animals so I expect he'll get really into the animal raising part of all this. Despite his gruffness he's a good bean. Take care of him. Or torture him. That's fine too.

Event Plans: Relaxing. Enjoying the peace and quiet. Mooching off of anyone who will feed him. Please feed him. (Don't feed him.) Kick his butt into working and he's a pretty good work horse, just don't let him near anything delicate because he is accident prone... or don't, I'm not the boss of you! Abel has a tragic history with animals disliking him, so he may be comically chased by a cow or something. I'm also down for Abel finding eggs or eggs being found with past bits! I'd be down to have people find random facts about Alberto in Easter eggs. But like. stupid ones. Alberto used to style his hair with snails. Alberto can use a fork. Alberto has accidentally poisoned himself on multiple occasions by eating random things he shouldn't eat. or some of the heavier stuff like Alberto thinks he ruins everything, or Alberto feels jealous of Giulia, still just random facts out of context, but more emotionally loaded. I'd rather not have any secrets like about his dad or being a sea monster be revealed, though.

He's in Cabin 3 with Bruno, Rhel and Rutile. y'all gonna have to deal with Espresso Alberto once they get a kitchen, and hyped bedtime Alberto who's excited about all the work he did that day. He's gonna build furniture the most, but he'll also dabble in farming and clearing land. He's pretty accident-prone so the latter two will probably go pretty terribly, room for comedy there... But he'll be really stoked about building furniture and have a decent proclivity for it. buuuut probably use tools in weird ways.

Event Plans: Well aside from the fact that Kate's finally going to have realized OOPS, I DRINK BLOOD TO LIVE thanks to her taking on Caesar as a client, mostly she's actually doing this event because...well her clients are there. Camilo doesn't really have any secrets but I'd be down to have him find other people's, just hmu and we'll plot! He's generally preeettttyyy harmless, unless there's room for, like, a really good punchline about it. Then he's contractually bound to seize the opportunity — you understand.

Stardew Valley—
Camilo is in Cabin 10 with Jun, Mendelson and Rean, so all new CR for him! Most of the rest of his family are also in Stardew Valley, so he might be making appearances at Cabins 6 and 7 to go bother the girls lol... so down for any new CR in those cabins too!

As for work, he can't do, like... much of anything in particular lmao. No real skill set. Just raw dedication to do whatever is asked of him to help, and will come up with some creative solution somehow to do so. If he needs to use his powers to change into someone bigger or smaller, he'll find opportunities to make himself useful in another form.

He won't be fighting because gjnrsk his family just had A Whole Thing happen last event and he realized he can't fight lol. BUT he'll be eager to farm and clear land and build furniture! He just... won't excel at any of it, and he'll be more sheepish than usual about that. But more or less undaunted!

A cool-headed, calm demon with a distant sort of demeanor, Killia is a man on a mission to get revenge on the Overlord known as Void Dark, a tyrannical dictator that lays waste and conquers the various Netherworlds with a simple ethos: "Obey or Die." Killia himself has a very personal vendetta against Void Dark for something that happened in his past (that he is incredibly reluctant to talk about), and will see to it that he defeats him. While slow to trust, slower to make friends, Killia is also unusually kind and humble for a demon, and finds himself unwilling to turn his back on the weak. Ultimately, Killia ends up (begrudgingly) leading a rebel army against Void Dark, filled with colorful characters like a succubus princess with a hair-trigger finger, a muscleheaded oni, and a fellow pupil of his martial arts master.

In Kaisou, Killia's not so much a man out for revenge as he is a man trying to build a new life for himself. Prior to arriving in Kaisou, he was essentially a thug and a criminal in a foreign country, needing to steal to survive. He hasn't caused any trouble in Kaisou and is very much content to put that part of his life behind him, more interested in being as normal and unassuming as possible. But he's in Kaisou, so forget about that. :V

For now, he works at a local restaurant whose reputation is growing thanks in part to his skill at cooking. Unfortunately for him, he has also started showing signs of the supernatural: his eyes turned from brown to a piercing yellow, like a lizard or a dragon, and he's picked up a frankly superhuman amount of strength out of nowhere.

For now, he's simply doing his best to get by, and he frankly needs more weird people in his life.

Event Plans:

Killia will go to Stardew Valley but I have no general roommate plans at time of writing.

As far as skills there, he doesn't really have much, but he's incredibly strong with decent stamina, and a willingness to learn and not complain about getting things done. The good thing is, even the most menial tasks are something you can count on him to do in a situation like this, so he'd be more than happy to help. And his raw strength would probably let him fight monsters pretty cleanly.

Also, he could probably improvise food pretty well for folks that are hungry.

Anything else? Honestly, any excuse for him to deal with weird folks because he's... pretty down to earth.

He only recently obtained the Libra app and he's decided that he's done pretending not to notice something is going on. He's a good guy at his core, he's just got a rough personality and terrible social skills.
Event Plans: Katsuki is new to all these shenanigans. My main hope is giving him an opportunity to interact with others and forcing him to be a team player. He's not good at it.
Anything else? He's actually pretty good at the roughing it thing and he can cook over a camp fire! So good news, cabin mates, if starving was a legit concern for you this guy's got you. Unfortunately he's also got a bad attitude, a strict 9pm bedtime and his stamina is shot due to his possession. So he's going to be hard to get along with and he's going to struggle more with the physical work. He'll still give it his all though!

About: Tell us about the character! Quiet but kind 14 year old student. In Kaisou, he has transfered school within the year, so he's still getting used to things. He keeps to himself mostly but will open up quickly with some friendly chatter. Souta likes fantasy and magic, so learning that magical things are afoot will be very exciting for him. Also he'll be learning how to talk to plants soon.

Event Plans: He's gonna be so excited for magical portal stuff, just elated! He's not terribly strong and can't fight, but he'll help clean up the little things and plant crops. The gardening will bring back memories, so he'll grow to be pretty good at it. Plus he will be able to check in on the plants by communicating with them.

Souta will also be collecting eggs throughout the month, mainly because they're pretty. But if you want him to discover one about your character or find one about him, let me know! Since he's new, he doesn't have too many exciting secrets. But he does sleep with a blanket, read fantasy novels regardless of if they're children's novels, and (after visiting Stardew) talk to flowers.
