November Plotting & CR Post

Hello everyone! It's time for the announcement and plotting post for November!

OOC Housekeeping

• The Zodiac Network Post will go up November 1st, with a midmonth post going up November 15th. There will be two event logs, the first will be posted November 4th and the second will be posted November 18th.
• If you haven't already, please remember to check in for activity! Activity is due by the end of the month!
• Just a reminder for anyone who hasn't joined yet, but we have a game discord for current players! It's completely optional to join, but come in and say hi!

World Changes

• Jackdaw is now sailing across the Atlantic!
• The electro gnosis is now within Kaisou, to be served as a battery.

Side quests
For the first half of the month, side quests have been put on hold! There will be November side quests made available in the second half of the month, so keep an eye out on that.

POKEGO Update
This month during the first half of the month, POKEGO members inside Kaisou will find they are unable to contact anyone outside of Kaisou that's not on the Libra app. As such, there will be no message from Professor Oak this month.

Black Order Update
This month, the Black Order will notice a lack of communication from the higher ups. Any Black Order members within Kaisou that attempt to communicate with anyone outside of Kaisou will also find it impossible unless they are using the Libra app.

In the latter half of the month, a small team of people will be infiltrating the Black Order HQ and retrieving Azhdaha within it. This is part of a long running player plot. You can read up more on that player event over here

Gate Event: Kaisou.
It'll be a Shadow element month, which means the nights will be much darker. The heavy fog that has been going on will be continuing, completely destroying visibility, until November 4th (the date the event log goes up). It will then be revealed, that as it's been warned about for several months, thanks to those folks running the Osorezan festival: Kaisou itself has been pulled into the Spirit Realm.

During the course of this event, any person connected to the supernatural (NPC or app user) will be stuck in a version of Kaisou that's now in the Spirit Realm. To make matters worse, the city will be overrun with yokai and demons (of Japanese mythology origin, which is the theme of this month!) who are seeking to lay claim of the new turf. It'll be up to the app users to fight off these invaders and do what they can to get their city out of the demon realm. This will include challenges such as:

Roving demon gangs

Possessed objects

Orochi (the Okami variant)

Night Parade of One Hundred Demons, mosh pit style

Bartering with kitsune

Capitalism

Various types of Yokai

Each district of the city will possess a different challenge to deal with. It'll be up to players to figure out different ways to deal with these challenges and make the city safe once more. The only areas that will be completely safe from danger will be Cathedral Hill, Undertown, and Persephone's Cottage. The cottage and cathedral will enjoy divine protection, while Undertown has various protection wards from Zodiac and Cygnus keeping them safe. Meanwhile the other areas of the city will have small safe zones throughout them that... well, they might come at a price. Sorry capitalism is everywhere and especially in Hell. That said, characters will also have access to the Hyrule and Kanto realms while this plot is going on, if they want to use that for resources or refuge.

Due to the intensity of this plot, the first event log will be entirely focused on this. There will be a second event log that will go up in the middle of the month that will go into the aftermath and some measure of returning to normal. ICly, the characters can expect to be in the Spirit Realm from November 4th to November 15th-ish.

Please know that we are excited for any ideas you guys throw our way about how your characters tackle this! And we are also open to the idea that characters actions influencing the overall plot. This is why we're posting this OOC a bit early, so people have a better chance to brainstorm ideas. If you have any questions about what would be allowed OR want more details, feel free to ask in the questions area. This is more or less considered the season finale for year 2 of Kaisou (December will be a chill holiday plot), so that's why it's so big.

Opt-out option
For those who wish to opt a character out of this intense plot, we have an additional opt-out option. Basically your character will be stuck on the normal side of Kaisou that is still part of Earth. While they are here, they will basically become the equivalent of a total normie, but with some vague memories of all the supernatural stuff. If they take this option, they will get their powers and everything eventually returned to upon the conclusion of the first half of the November event.

He's not cruel enough to not say anything about it, he thinks you're all insane but he's not gonna sit around and let some shitty yokai make a mess of the place. Besides he's been needing someone's ass to kick since Krusnik's dead but as for ways of getting them out he'll be useless.

Unlike Ragna, Dia will be more focused on finding ways to get Kaisou out of the spirit realm by balancing out the power of rizz and violence and he'd do what he can to organize what everyone has too.

That being said the moment anything especially big giant fuck you snake starts with the aggression he's going to respond in kind. He does have his Noble Phantasms again one of which completely negates magical shields and effects for an hour which will more than likely be useful for the big fight to give them openings. He's down to throw hands.

Event Plans:
The whole reason Takame was in the prophecy post was because he saw parts of this coming. The being in the ghost's house will be new to him but yokai he can deal with by threatening to break their limbs to get info out of them so he's also in the violence crowd.

He might end up playing support actually and being the real tank for the big encounters. He'll also be doing what he can to keep the people who can't really fight out of harm's way from any of the yokai so if you can't fight find him as an escort.

Eunie's primary plan this month is to help Zhongli with Azhdaha since that's her grandpa and she also knows his story. More than anything she wants to help on that front and will be using her new tank class to that end.

But by the end of the month Eunie will be leaving the Black Order. At some point soon after probably early December she will be going into POKEGO to help them but still be keenly interested in TBO affairs because they're her team no matter what.

this is the AU version, so she's Homecoming Queen and she's got a degree in broadcasting and she's a radio show host! she also happens to be possessed as fuck hahahahah, so she might start acting weird. it's fine. it's all totally fine. she may or may not be turning into a vampire, she's not sure, she kind of got possessed before the turn really got started. help?
Event Plans: lol so you guys know the very friendly and polite radio host who just popped up on your app, well it turns out she's possessed! by a fire demon! so that's something! Lucy is very pacifistic and not super good at combat so she'll be focusing on getting people to somewhere safe. if you need somebody to haggle for you then she will do her very best! her demon however will be trying to push her into terrifying situations so her composure might snap at any point.

Event Plans: His relationship wit hhis possessor is a bit rocky so that's probably not going to go great. He was born in Japan and only recently moved to Kaisou so all the demons will be strangely nostalgic (/he will have at least baseline mythological knowledge, probably).

What he does probably depeneds on who/if anyone he hangs out with. He might try to make deals and trick things for his own gang... or might embrace his inner desire to go Absolutely Batshit and engage in violence. He hasn't really had a chance to before, but the boy is teetering on the edge of unhinged killer and only needs a push...

Might also use this as an excuse to give him some regains of his Persona(s) and canon stuff!

Event Plans: Well, two months ago sure was a fantastic time to get nerfed, huh. At least he'll be discovering his healing is not only back, but it's better than it used to be! I don't have any solid plans for him either but that just means more ways for him to run into people!!

About: Former delinquent from the next town over who got thrown headfirst into the paranormal in March. Still the Team Dad but it's a less improbable thing here than in canon.
Event Plans: His primary concern is going to be making the restaurant he works at a safe haven for anyone who comes in, but he'll absolutely be out and about to try to get people to safety as best as he can. Also, for his friends still in the city, he'll be asking for regular check-ins!!

Character Name: Josuke Higashikata
Canon: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
Type: POKEGO AU
About: POKEGO medic with the burden of social skills.
Event Plans: BEEP BEEP HERE COMES THE HEALER MOBILE. In other words, Josuke's gonna be driving around so he can help out anyone who needs it by way of, well, healing, but also providing supplies if necessary-- he will also happily provide transport to other healers who might need it! Just don't mind if he runs down a couple of demons as they go along, it's fine. He's also willing to loan out his Pokemon to anyone who needs a little extra defense.

Oh, and his Stand is going to be brought back to more or less full capacity this month, there's that.

Threading with Josuke seems like a riot because Cassandra will take one look at him and assume he's a biker like her with that hair of his. But also she's got a vested interest in talking with him, since she heard about POKEGO and how knowledgeable the people there from Eunie. She wants to learn more about spirit veins and how to potentially close one or erect a barrier to protect her family farm, since it's pretty close to one.

About: A Socials student at University, she still plays the part of 'sane panic voice' when weird things happen, but lately has started to get a bit numb to the non-dangerous end. It be that way when your hair suddenly turns pink, and you get strange powers like this weird goopy thing in your phone who hijacks google all the time. Prefers plans and caution over no plans and no caution, but listen, She might be hittin' her limit here!

Yasuho is getting trapped like everyone else in funky magic Kaisou, and it is a good thing she just got a weird magical girl outfit and a dragon because she...will need those. She will need those badly! She's been slowly learning to use a sword, but that's not exactly going to help much against...All of this. Over all though, she's going to have to use it! And she's going to finally (accidentally) use that ARCUS of hers!

Essentially, the event plans are shoving Yasuho into the pool, and saying 'good luck!'

Anything else? I'm keeping plans vague as you can see, largely because I don't have a lot of time to make the plans (WHOOPS!)

However I WILL have a lot of time for the event itself, as I'm taking a vacation week this month! Hooray! (in fact the reason I have little time on the plans end is the Massive Work Week I have as a result. AH! A GRAVE I DUG FOR ME!)

In any case I'm hoping to focus on Yasuho especially here, particularly as this is a good chance for her to make use of all these things she's been picking up and working with. (and then maybe later I'll spend Jojo's points)
