Hello everyone! It's time for the announcement and plotting post for August!

OOC Housekeeping

The Zodiac Network Post will go up August 1st, with a midmonth post going up August 15th. The monthly event log will be posted August 4th.

World Changes

The TM "Surf" is now available to teach Pokemon without purchasing a regain.

Side quests
New Side Quests have been added for the month of August! Go ahead and sign up! If you haven't turned in quests for July gacha points, you can still do so until the end of the month! However, signing up for any July quests is now closed.

POKEGO Update
Thanks to the POKEGO's research on Atlantis, they've managed to get attention from Atlantis enthusiasts! Professor Oak will be compiling all their papers into an anthology for the paranormal community to read. So many of them are fascinating to hear more about their favorite lost city. Thanks to that, they will get enough of sponsorship deals to net themselves another $200 each in their monthly payments - bringing their monthly wages up to $550! On the other hand, they'll also get sent some angry letters of people who are unhappy that their information went against their Atlantis headcanons- so guess you can't please everyone.

Black Order Update
The Black Order's July mission was a success! The artifacts were successfully returned to Atlantis, and the other artifacts were shipped back to the Black Order to be dealt with accordingly. Meanwhile the curator has been cursed so he can never steal again without his hands becoming incorporeal. All in all, a successful mission!

As for August's Mission, the Black Order through Jusis will receive intel that a excommunicated Black Order member, Georg Weissmann, has been spotted in Kaisou posing as a paranormal researcher named Alba. Due to his involvement and crimes done through Krusnik, it has been recommended that he be killed on sight or similarly dealt with. In terms of powers, he is dangerous with an ability that immobilizes people unless they have something to counteract it (like a barrier). It'll be up to Black Order members to decide how to proceed with these orders.

This ties into a subplot that the game at large can get involved with! Members of Krusnik, a shady organization that is known for kidnapping and experimenting on children, have arrived in Kaisou and will attempt to target former Krusnik victims, young app users, or app users of notable power. Players have the option to either have their characters targeted by Krusnik or be involved in helping taking down this group once and for all!

ETA: Regarding the idea of having a character successfully captured by Krusnik, information about that can be found here. Due to the fact it will involve torture, we ask that any character that gets successfully snagged by Krusnik be at least 16 years of age. In other words it's okay for kids to get targeted by Krusnik, but not for them to be successfully taken.

Please note that this is an optional subplot. Due to some of the heavier topics that it'll be handling, the actual confrontation with Krusnik will be taking place in it's own separate log that'll be posted as the same day as the general event log. If it's not your cup of tea, don't worry there will be plenty of other things to do this month!

Town Events
Due to being a fire month, the weather will be hot throughout the month (but thankfully less humid!). For all you monster types affected, a full moon will be appearing twice this month. And if that's not bad enough, the first full moon (during the first week of August), will gain a face as it passes through the Spirit Vein in the sky. It's. Probably fine.

It's August, which means the Kaisou county fair will be going on! Head to the fair and enjoy all attractions, rides, the fried food you can! Though you may want to watch out for chickens. Throughout August, there will be flocks of chickens all over Kaisou. Should you hurt one of these chickens or they see you eating chicken of any kind - the entire flock will attack you with an almighty force. Once you survive the attack, or you manage to interact with the chickens WITHOUT getting pecked- you'll be left plastic eggs that will turn into...

Free Gacha!
That's right, it's another free gacha month! Comment below to the free gacha thread to redeem three free gacha prizes! This offer is available until the last day of August and characters who app during August are eligible to get free gacha too!

We'll be using the same system as we did in May with distributing prizes. This means each day we will roll for 10-30 characters depending on how many regain mods we have available during office hours. This may mean you will have to wait a few days to get your gacha results, but we should have most of them done by the time the event log goes live.

Gate Event: Hyrule
This month's event will be Hyrule from Zelda: Breath of the Wild! Characters will be sent to a kingdom of Hyrule where Link didn't wake up from his century-long nap and asked to take care of the Calamity Ganon (minus the divine beasts, we're using speed-running strats here). While they are in the realm, they will have to do their best to survive all the dangerous elements and also probably get sidetracked exploring the fallen kingdom.

While the plotline of this event will borrow mostly from BOTW, we will also be allowing characters to engage with the crafting system of Tears of the Kingdom. This means characters will be able to use materials (including Zonai machines) they find in the realm to build contraptions or fuse them to weapons. The crafting system will only work within the realm of Hyrule, so no bringing your DIY gundams into Kaisou. Speaking of weapons, Hyrule will have the weapon durability system. This means weapons found within Hyrule will break easily, while weapons bought through the regain system will either dull or lose their power quickily while in the realm (but not break!).

New Permanent Features: Hyrule Stable Gate and Free Hammerspace
You read that right! At the conclusion of this plot, Hyrule will be tethered to Kaisou meaning it will become the newest stable gate. This will allow characters to visit it at anytime even after this month.

Finally, for characters wishing to gain hammer-space, they will be able to look for Koroks, a small forest spirit that lives in Hyrule and likes to play hide-and-seek. For each of these hammer-space slots, they will need to find 3 koroks and make a thread for at least one of the three hunts that's a minimum of 3 comments from your character. Once you have the thread, you can comment to the regain post and get a free hammer-space slot for yourself! This can be done a maximum of three times per month. This feature will become available with the posting of the event log, so August 4th.

Quick thing, when you say app users of notable power does that mean something specific or is it kind of up to us to interpret wrt who Krusnik targets?
