HIGH SCHOOL MINI EVENT - Spring Concert
Hello everyone!
So Elliot is the music teacher for Kaisou High, and so like many high school music classes -- will be running a School concert for the end of the school year! This will be one of those standard music concerts where parents, friends and family are invited to listen to a bunch of high schoolers play school appropriate music. Having war flash backs to your time in school? Good!
Most of this will be in the background, though there will be a section for it in the May high school log (which will include prom, finals and graduation), but since there's a lot of work leading up to any concert - I thought it'd be a good chance for CR and plotting opportunity! Roles for the concert will be announced ICly starting April 18th and rehearsals will follow pretty regularly up until the time of the concert - May 6th. Elliot will run the rehearsals and his general attitude will be his usual cheerful self but also--

If you're interested in having your character take part in the concert, please comment to this post! There's no OOC limit to roles, and any role that's not filled by a character will get filled by a NPC -- but we can say there were IC auditions and what not if you want drama about who got the big solo.

Character Name: Mirabel Madrigal
Musical Talent: She’s very musically talented! She can sing, dance, and play the accordion
Role: A singing role please!
Notes: She’s pretty easy to work with and get along with! She is probably annoyingly enthusiastic.

Character Name: Hunter
Musical Talent: He's learning the violin! His talent is fine. He's way better in terms of technical skills than actually putting his heart into it.
Role: He'll probably just be part of the band, no solos.
Notes: Hunter is an overachieving workaholic, so he makes up for lacking in experience and raw talent by practicing day and night. He's probably also taking this REALLY seriously, so feel free to handwave him being an obnoxious dork towards people who aren't practicing as much as him. He also looks down on people who aren't very good, thinking they're pathetic and not trying hard enough.
Basically, his mindset for a simple school concert is very worrying. But hey, at least he likes Elliot's brutal teaching style!

Character Name: Yuu
Musical Talent: They're alright with singing, but dance and timpani are where they shine.
Role: APPARENTLY TIMPANI SOLOS ARE IN FACT A THING??? I was not aware of this, but apparently they're a thing. Yuu's heart was not set on a solo but listen, if they got one they would be thrilled and it would give their pride a much needed boost.
Notes: Yuu is laser-focused during rehearsals but also very much having the time of their life here. They'll roll with Elliot's attitude surprisingly well all things considered.

Musical Talent: She's pretty good at playing the ukulele, but her true talents are singing and hula dancing
Role: Maybe a singing solo, or a ukulele one if she's asked
Notes: Moana takes rehearsals pretty seriously, but she'll also be encouraging others during breaks and downtime

Musical Talent: A very good singer, if weirdly birdlike in her voice
Role: Mostly backup vocals, but she'll probably have a solo where she sings some bird music if no one else wants to take the vocal solo
Notes: Tiera might do a bit of a threat display at anyone else who tries to take the vocal solo but will back down as long as they stand up to her

Character Name: Varian
Musical Talent: He can play piano and has a ridiculously good singing voice (thanks, Jeremy Jordan)
Role: Probably piano. He comes from a musical canon where everyone sounds amazing so he doesn't think his voice is actually THAT special, jeez.
Notes: Varian arrived on the 1st and promptly work-a-hollic'ed his way through the set and honestly we're all lucky he's a freakish prodigy or he would have worked himself into the ground to try and get perfect for this in time.
