Welcome to the January Handwaved CR & AU workshop for Kaisou! We're super excited to have you! These posts are to help encourage old and new players to make new connections and find potential CR while designing your AU or figuring out what your OU character has been up to. If you're brand news, you can check out FAQ page and the app page to get a sense of what's going on!

If you're a player looking to app a new character:
Apps are always open for submission and get done the first and third weekends of the month. So once you got a clear idea of what you want, feel free to hop over to the application page! If you're already in the game, feel free to comment to this post as well to make new CR!

A reminder that in order to app either a Black Order or POKEGO AU you are required to have been in the game at least 3 months with another character. If you are rejoining the game after being gone awhile, you can count your past stint towards your 3 months, but it's recommended you look over the plot recap to see what you missed.

If you are a player with a character in game looking for CR:
You can use this post to comment with your character and established some handwaved CR or just come up with different ways for characters to meet!

Character Name: Shio Takahata
Canon: Tokyo Xanadu
Age: 23 (a whole five years older than canon!)
Type: Normal AU, for all the good that qualifier does by now

About: Former delinquent from the next town over who got adopted by a couple who own a restaurant in Kaisou. Had no prior knowledge of the supernatural before the app downloading itself to his phone in April of 2023 but got dunked right into the deep end between the Persona plot that year and also one of his buddies rolling up to the restaurant after some very drastic physical changes. He's all but running the restaurant--Gen, a Japanese restaurant in the university district (it mostly does soba but Shio's been expanding the menu)--and has turned it into a safe zone for when the city is crisis.
Typical Activities: He has his restaurant, of course, and his main hobby is motorcycles. Beyond that, he's a frequent participant in the fighting game community, and he's one of the game crafters, who specializes in sewn items and woodcarving (though it's likely he'll want to pick up new things). He also teaches a cooking class at Cygnus Academy! It's mostly geared towards OUs who need to learn how a present day kitchen works in short order.

Looking for: The restaurant is the easiest point of CR--employees or regulars are both welcome! If you're a regular and you have a typical order he's probably committed it to memory by now.

Ratio probably drops by the restaurant for lunch semi-regularly, since it's convenient to the university! He's usually got a book to read or papers to grade and isn't very talkative, but he tips well.

Excellent :3 Shio was probably quick to offer his condolences after finding out Ratio ended up on the app, honestly, especially since Shio started out as a normal
AU himself as well.

Aww~ he may occasionally be subjected to Ratio's grumblings about magical nonsense, then. especially this past month, what do you mean Santa Claus is real

Grumblings that will be taken in stride because oh he has been there.

Especially on the Santa thing, he had that same reaction last year.

Your probably possessed younger brother regularly turns up at your restaurant to eat and hang out, WDYD?

Jun is a semi-regular at Shio's restaurant! He usually stops by a couple times a month, provided he's not too busy with mission stuff. Jun is happy to chat up Shio if he's not busy, and he's 100% someone that tries everything on the menu (though he'll try to ask for no pork if possible). If there's ever a new item, you better believe he's ordering it.
