Welcome to the January Handwaved CR & AU workshop for Kaisou! We're super excited to have you! These posts are to help encourage old and new players to make new connections and find potential CR while designing your AU or figuring out what your OU character has been up to. If you're brand news, you can check out FAQ page and the app page to get a sense of what's going on!
If you're a player looking to app a new character:
Apps are always open for submission and get done the first and third weekends of the month. So once you got a clear idea of what you want, feel free to hop over to the application page! If you're already in the game, feel free to comment to this post as well to make new CR!
A reminder that in order to app either a Black Order or POKEGO AU you are required to have been in the game at least 3 months with another character. If you are rejoining the game after being gone awhile, you can count your past stint towards your 3 months, but it's recommended you look over the plot recap to see what you missed.
If you are a player with a character in game looking for CR:
You can use this post to comment with your character and established some handwaved CR or just come up with different ways for characters to meet!

Character Name: Waver Velvet
Canon: Fate/ (noncanon servantswap AU)
Age: 31
Type: OU
About: The co-administrator of Cygnus Academy/teacher of one of its many classes as well as POKEGO's Blackthorn, Waver is a professional mage with chronic pain and a temper to match, becuse god forbid anyone realize he's actually kind of a huge softie. Also he turns into a bird when stressed.
Typical Activities: He's a nightmare workaholic, spending the vast majority of his time in and around Cygnus either teaching or making sure various maintenance tasks are getting accomplished. Fate forbid the magic barrier gives out or Caleb blows something else up. Generally other than that, he doesn't make a secret of the fact that his apartment isn't terribly far from the school, and tries to make himself available for anyone that needs his help academic or otherwise.
Looking for: i'm down for most anything, i just need to reorganize my new year ducks into a row
Character Name: Scintilla Caminus
Canon: Final Fantasy XIV (WoL OC)
Age: ~30s
Type: OU
About: A Miqo'te possessing a heart as big as her biceps, Scintilla is a blunt and nigh unintelligible speaker with far more wisdom than intelligence She runs the Second Spark blacksmith forge in Undertown, and can always be found where there's some crazy battle-focused nonsense going on.
Typical Activities: She lives and works out of her forge, but often travels to Kanto and Stardew looking for new and interesting rocks to make into fun pointy objects. Occasionally she'll also go mining in Hyrule, but if she goes there it's more likely for combat practice.
Looking for: see above--honestly of the three she's the one that needs to get out there a bit more
Character Name: Ardyn Izunia
Canon: Final Fantasy XV
Age: Yes.
Type: Black Order AU
About: Having been in the Black Order for as long as almost anyone can remember and having been annoying for even longer than that, Ardyn is a career assassin for the Order finding himself with way less assassinating to do following the revolution. Carrying two eternities worth of difficult memories and also a daemonic possession, usually Ardyn is less dangerous than he is just flat-out irritating.
Typical Activities: Usually caught up in whatever the Order's doing, but as a general rule he's mainly out and about at night; nowhere specific, just looking for things to do and trouble to get into. He also tends to show up out of nowhere when applicable/funny, having shadow jumping and a lack of willingness to use it responsibly.
Looking for: anyone who can put up with him. i gave him martyr complex and healing pain, which is a whole loaded mess he's going to need to unpack once he realizes he has them, so there's that to mess about with.

secondly would you want to handwave Meredith being at least acquainted with Ardyn at this point? Since I think they've briefly talked once or twice and she is good friends with Noctis (somehow, we still aren't sure how that happened) so it's at least plausible they'd run into each other?

Zulius drops in on Waver A LOT in Cygnus. He occasionally feels the need to be a bother about the place he puts his money into and that means being an obnoxious chatterbox at Waver. No, he cannot escape this.
Varian probably comes across Scintilla a bit through crafting circles. AT least enough to say hi and ask how her buisness is doing!

to be truthful wriothesley has no idea what to think of Ardyn. he strikes him as sort of a madman, and yet he's also very clearly competent. who are you. he's likely invited ardyn to his office for tea and a chat before, even if he wasn't sure if they guy would actually show up due to how much he expresses his hatred for meropide.

Other than that, Bailey has absolutely dropped by the forge a time or two and Fugo definitely pops in from time to time.
Speaking of Fugo, he is perhaps for obvious reasons very much in Waver's vicinity a fair bit and probably has come to him for help of the academic variety a time or two.
