Character Name: Riku - Riku Sekido Canon: Kingdom Hearts Age: 19 - he's aged up from canon, and his birthday was in November! Type: POKEGO AU!
About: Riku is a mess of a human being. He used to be a cocky little brat, but learned very quickly that he's really bad at 1. being left alone ever and 2. making decisions for himself. In canon, he's been through the wringer of bad decisions and is trying so, so, so hard to make up for them. In Kaisou, he hasn't personally done anything other than be a bit of a confident jerk, but in recent years he's been getting more and more memories back that are confirming he's, you know, not exactly The Best Person.
In general, Riku is very socially awkward but Is Trying. He has confidence in his fighting ability, but not much of anything else. Also, he's desperate for positive role models, to the point where, if you are in any position of responsibility or seniority over him and have had one (1) positive conversation with him, Riku considers you an absolute source of inspiration and advice.
For the nitty gritty of it all, in his Kaisou AU Riku was born in Japan, but his family moved just outside of Honolulu, Hawaii when he was a baby, so he was raised on the beach, which might have helped his memories of his past life coming back early. He's been involved with POKEGO on the island since he was 10, bullying his way into the supervised outings for youngsters as often as possible. His family is well off, he's a professional surfer with some titles, medals, and trophies under his belt, and now alongside his companion bat, Kaisou has gifted him a giant fluffy cat he's named Kairi and she and Komory (the Noibat) live a spoiled, charmed life in an apartment slowly being taken over by plants.
He's graduated into a full-fledged POKEGO member, but he doesn't quite have a specialty yet. He's been following the path of a researcher set on exploring all of the Pokémon Spirit Realms, but he's not too sure on what his future looks like apart from that. Typical Activities: Riku can be found pretty much every day letting Komory get some exercise outside of her pokéball by the bay or in the park, but other than that he doesn't really have a routine established, yet! He wasn't going to go to college, but has very, very recently been challenged into thinking more about his future and education by a single lecture from Ratio, so. You know. He might end up being around the University for a class or two as he continues to try to figure out his life.
Looking for: Family, friends, enemies, colleagues - anything, really! Riku doesn't do well on his own and is desperate for friends, he's just really bad at making them and really awkward about talking to people for the first time in general. He's going to try to get more involved in things both in POKEGO and in the city overall, and he needs at least a part time job, but other than that I don't have any real plans for him right now!
