Hello everyone! It's time for the announcement and plotting post for July!

OOC Housekeeping

The Zodiac Network Post will go up July 1st, with a midmonth post going up July 15th. The monthly event log will be posted July 4th.
If you haven't already, please remember to check in for activity! Activity is due by the end of the month!
The regains page has adjusted its office hours. Moving forward, there will be no regain office hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays except for the Tuesdays and Thursdays that fall between the posting of the plotting OOC and the event log (so the 28th to the 4th typically). Please check the calendar to double check on closed days.
Just a reminder for anyone who hasn't joined yet, but we have a game discord for current players! It's completely optional to join, but come in and say hi!

World Changes

A fully digitized Pokedex has been uploaded to Libra by Yuuki of POKEGO.

Side quests
New Side Quests have been added for the month of July! Go ahead and sign up! If you haven't turned in quests for June gacha points, you can still do so until the end of the month! However, signing up for any June quests is now closed.

POKEGO Update
Due to Persephone's efforts to get sponsors, she managed to procure a sponsorship from the mobile game Raid Darkness Sagas. In exchange for hanging advertisement posters in public POKEGO workspaces, Raid Darkness Sagas will donate enough money to pay each POKEGO member an additional $50 a month- making their monthly total pay to $350 per month.

Thanks to Yuuki's efforts in digitizing the Pokedex for Libra app users, Cygnus Academy will get shipped a box of Shiny Charms that'll raise the chance of encountering a shiny Pokemon. These charms are accessible to anyone who is connected with Cygnus Academy.

The POKEGO apprentices (Jun, Kaveh, Ryouta, Varian) have begun mapping out the Kanto realm. This is still a work-in-progress, but this is a currently available map of the realm (most of it is still unmapped).

Mikleo requested access to Zodiac's technology that allows them to detect Spirit Gates and Tears as part of a long term project. No rewards immediately for this one, but it will be something to look out for in the future.

Finally thanks to efforts to assist Oz from Persephone, Josuke, and Alhaitham - POKEGO is now in good standing with the Lollipop Guild! This means from now on, the PICHU Facility's refreshment area will be regularly stock with various types of free candy (often lollipops). In addition, the Munchkins used left over building materials to build a greenhouse for Cygnus Academy. However due to the munchkins being, well, munchkins- the ceiling of the greenhouse stands at about 6 feet high. Sorry tall folks.

Black Order Update
The Black Order's June mission was a success! The conman was apprehended and had the sealing spell placed on him, which made him lose his magic abilities as well as most of his memories and part of his personality (oops). The con man was sent back to his family, who has put him in a long-term care facility to have them look after him. For their efforts, Black Order members will get paid their usual salaries and none of them will receive punishment.

As for July's Mission, the Black Order has been tasked with dealing with a museum curator that's been using a magic stripper pole to sneak into Spirit Realms and procure artifacts to display in his museum. Since he's just been going for items based on the "cool factor", several of the items he's procured are potentially dangerous and thus has alerted the Black Order.

Thus, the Guardians in Kaisou have been tasked two objectives. First, stop the curator from procuring anymore items from the Spirit Realm. Second, find a way to retrieve the items he's already stolen and put into the museum. Like the previous mission, the methods used for this mission will be decided by discussion and then a vote in the discord server.

Town Events
Due to it being the summer water month, the weather for the month is going to be hot, humid, and full of storms. Throughout the month, there will be frequent thunderstorms and rain showers that'll get heavy. Expect mild flooding and your hair to hate the humidity. If that's not bad enough, some of the microbursts will have magical properties that will make a person start to crystalize and find it harder to move should they get caught in it. Luckily, the crystallization will wear off once they are dried.

Meanwhile, the annual Anime Convention, Kaicon, is this month! It'll be taking place in the civic center and will be full of the typical things you'll find in an anime convention! Buy some merch, attend some panels, and go all out in your cosplay! There'll be no separate log for it this year, so it'll be part of the event log.

Gate Event: Atlantis
This month's event will be the great lost city of Atlantis! Characters will be traveling to the famous lost city, where they will help uncover the truth behind what caused Atlantis to fall under the sea, and help the people protect their city from a leviathan threat. This version of Atlantis is based off a mix of the disney movie and Plato's texts about Atlantis, meaning they will be humans who have been protected from eradication thanks to a magical energy crystal. Expect to deal with underwater threats such sea monsters and swimming.

Long Term Consequences Choice Alert!
As part of this event, characters will have a choice in obtaining their own version of the magical energy crystal that Atlantis uses to power their city. Needless to say, this energy source has a lot of power - enough that it could be used to power a character-run version of the Libra app that is completely without Zodiac's control, among other things. That said, it does run the potential consequence that if not handled very carefully - it could worsen Kaisou's current situation and in the worst case scenario- cause the city to get dragged into the Spirit Realm like Atlantis. Though of course, characters can think up IC solutions to help mitigate these issues.

In other words, taking the Atlanteans up on their offer could have severe game wide consequences and shape the overall game plot moving forward. And thus, we've decided to put it to a vote whether the offer is taken up. We have about 40 players in Kaisou, but since a number of them tend to be absent at any given time and the mod team themselves cannot vote in this- we're going to be looking for a vote threshold of 15 player votes in order for this to pass.

You're allowed to vote for this even if your character ICly would be against it, since this is more checking to see if players are interested in dealing with the game changes this would cause (new network app, more spirit realm problems, convincing the Black Order that they got a smoothie, etc).

Event Plans: Atlantis should be very easy for Jamie since it aligns with when his Water magic gets an extra boost, which means his fast swimming and selkie curse should come in handy. Also a part of me is tempted to give him memories of the Second Triwizard Task because sea monsters and people eating merpeople. What else can I say?

Event Plans: Last month was quiet, but still planning on throwing him at Cygnus Academy. The magic geek has good reason to go. He will definitely be at the Anime Convention as well! May or may not visit Atlantis, since magic crystals are a magical girl staple, and who am I to deny his genre?
Anything else? If I can figure out a way, I'd love to finally get him a grass type Pokemon. Also open to side quests, especially Cake Boss.

Bright and curious, she's been learning more about the world as well as slowly growing more accustomed to 'normal' life. Eve still wants to become a sweeper one day, like her role models.
Event Plans: She'll be learning to swim specifically for the gate this month, so likely to want to visit it. Eve's got the powers to help fight sea monsters, she'll just need a guardian for the trip.
Anything else? Definitely keen for side quests, give her bounties!
